Exciting...

I've just found a dance school for Bethany!!! And the best thing is... it's literally 2 min from us by car. Now that might seem insignificant, but we live out of the centre of town, fairly rural. Shops etc are 7min which is pretty good, so everything is close. Our shopping centre has a pharmacy, newsagent, takeaway and more - its a growing area. But where we are is very rural, big blocks, vineyards etc. We love it here - we are at the top end of a little cul de sac so it is quiet and safe - and we have a view of the river.

So... to find a dance school not in the city (20min) is awesome news for me. We have decided that we will keep her at day care next year and add another lesson and try and do a few more things like visit museums and stuff, to help her learning that way. So dance lessons will nearly make something every day but at least if its close it won't be a problem in terms of another day out. Competitions aren't compulsory at this age so we'll see how she goes.

We've had a lovely morning - went round to Dads farm and had a picnic on the hill overlooking the river. We went to the farm next door and the owner took us over to feed the alpacas - the girls just loved it. Pity I didn't have the camera. B is such an outdoorsy kid. Think Mia will be too - we must get our fences done and then it will be safe outside for them.

Better clean some mess up - my boy is away as usual - doing production for Young Divas tonight. He has all the fun :p me stuck at home hehe. Oh the other good thing - found a 2nd hand skateboard for our pram! Yay, save B wanting to sit on the front.

Some pics from today

Lugged the camera out today and got a couple of nice pics of my girlies...

Miss Bethany.
She is getting so grown up! We are still no closer to a school solution for next year. Doesn't seem any way to get her in other than a private pre-kinder which we kinda feel while beneficial to her is not so beneficial for us as a whole family. At the moment, it will be day care and we will add something like dancing lessons. I am thinking 2 days of day care and one morning at playcentre. She is now swimming by herself at swimming lessons and doing so well. She has surprised me with how much she does actually listen.

Eddy and Miss Mia - trying to get her fingers back in her mouth!

Still need a tonne more time playing with the camera to really get it sorted and must book in for a PSE course so I don't keep bugging Kays hehe.

Mia looks so grown up in this pic. Can't believe my baby is 16mths. Don't think I've posted here about her lack of talking. She vocalises a lot, don't think its going to be a huge issue, just slow perhaps, like she has been to grow. I'm going to ring a Speechie cause I don't want to miss the boat. I guess I am concerned cause of her slight tongue tie. She doesn't say Dad, she calls him Mum lol. She can say it but only rarely. She really only says Mum and versions of inc one that means Grandma. She says uh oh and varying other sounds, but no real words. She is certainly understanding and clearly states yes or no. Today I was folding washing and she took off with one of Bethany's socks. When I found the matching one, i asked to her to go and get the sock and bring it to me, which she did. So I have no concerns about her hearing or understanding, and like I said she does vocalise. Cause B was such a good talker so early (and hasn't shut up since :p) its hard to know what is normal. So I will talk to a speechie and see where too from here.

We are going up the mountain in a couple of weeks - hope there is still some snow. B will love it I'm sure. Going with the Richo's and the Carswell's so that will be fun. Oh Mum and Aran will come too, so that will be nice to take the pressure off with the girls.

On the count down to the big weekend now. I think we are pretty well organised. Getting very excited, I know Mum will be blown away.

I'm looking forward to some time to myself - not sure when it will happen! I might get Mum to have Mia for a day once Auntie Julie goes home, just to have a day at home and veg out.

I had a migraine on Saturday night and am still not really over it - my back is playing up heaps.

Two mentions

- happy birthday to Regan for this week! Hope she had a great day!
- welcome back to my mate Dee!

thats it from me - i need an early night with drugs for this back

Tagged

by Leenie :)

Here's the deal:

1-post these rules
2-each person tagged must post 8 random(... hopefully interesting) facts about themselves
3-taggees should write a blogpost of these facts
4- at the end of the post 8 more bloggers are tagged and named and released back into the wild
5-go to their blog and leave a comment telling them they're tagged

  1. I was an only child until I was 19. There is only me and my brother
  2. A friend and I once stole a cigarette from my Dad and smoked half each, that is the extent of my trial with cigarettes
  3. When I was 12 I represented Northern Tasmania in the State Netball Champs. We were sponsored by Mr Juicy and therefore wore bright orange skirts. We played all weekend in the freezing raing.
  4. I did piano lessons for years and hated it. Had to do exams and all.
  5. I am not at all artistic, the fact that I scrap is quite surprising really
  6. I got my ears peirced for the 2nd time when I was in Darwin in 1993. I wasn't allowed but got it done anyways
  7. Afore mentioned second earrings are now removed, I decided that I would prefer my girls to only have one, therefore I 'd better take my second one out too.
  8. I have been successful at every single job interview I have ever had. My first official job then all my nursing jobs. The scariest one was for a management position where I had to give a presentation at the interview. The panel were scary :p but now 2 of them are my friends and in fact they are together. Which in itself is a scary thought. Oh and I hated that job!
and I'll tag

What do sad meals come in Mummy?

Well thats a really good question isn't it! And it is what I was asked today! We went to McDonalds (yep bad mumma) and of course got a happy meal (B has the chips and I have the drink and burger!) Driving away as she was eating, she asked me what it was called... "a happy meal" was the obvious answer. Then she said "what does a sad meal come in?" Very good question!!! Shows good logic lol. She decided that the sad meal comes in a Shrek box, the one she had comes in a Chicken Little box. Hehe.

I'm a bit over the whole parenting gig. Doesn't help being sick and feeling like crap. B is wanting sooooooo much attention, today we played Candyland and Dominoes, did some painting, played cubbyhouse, had a sleep together on the couch (that was not such a great idea as she woke up grumpy grumpy) as well as spending a couple of hours in town. But that wasn't enough, she wanted more. What about housework? Nope, none done. They had a bath too and I got about 1/4 of the ironing basket done. How am I going to do this for another year? I know that kinder being only 2 days will be the same as now, so i need to look at options for her. I really would like to put her into dance lessons, but not with competitions, I will have to find out about that other place i heard about. Otherwise we'll go to dancefit i think.

So thats me...

I start every blog post with...

gee I'm slack or something to that effect hehe. But I am. I think about blogging, but some days, well most it just doesn't happen.

Some random stuff:

AM I OVER IT?? PERMANENTLY????
Scrapping that is???
- I was doing a bit of blog hopping the other night and there was a LO on there, and it was a very very nice LO, professional etc. And I realised that I didn't like it, it looked too polished, too professional. (I need to add here that it was not done by someone I know... so no paranoia here if anyone does happen to read this...) That night I skimmed a mag and the same thing. There were some in there that I liked but I realised a lot were just one pic with a title. Journalling has kinda disappeared. Anyhoo, what i realised was that no I'm not over it. Its just a period in my life that I am not scrapping, I have too much other stuff to do and there is no creative juices at all. But thats OK. But I want my stuff to have soul, to really be about us. It will happen again and my goodness it should when I look at all that stuff downstairs. When sorting it all - I have at least 2 complete kits in pizza boxes, untouched :o

SICKNESS
Over that too lol. Not one thing another. I have a cold, Mia has a chest infection, Bethany is probably nearing an infection too :( But we soldier on

BIRTHDAYS
Jamies birthday today! Happy birthday old boy! We got him a 4GB iPod, slippers (so he stops wearing mine!) and 2 jumpers from Colorado. He seems pleased with the iPod - now I want one hehe.

Mums birthday is fast approaching. Getting excited now. It will be a tonne of fun - after the hard work is done. Thankfully Dad is willing to pay for catering so that takes the pressure off me.

CLEANING
Yay my cleaner starts in less than 2 weeks! I get 2 for the price of one as well!

I'd better stop typing now and get back to it as well. I have done the girls rooms and most of ours, now just to finish ours and do the kitchen ready to start cooking tea. Roast lamb and vegies with choc sponge cake for dessert - at request of the birthday boy!

ONE LAST THING
Church stuff - so exciting whats happening there. Will be a tonne of opportunities in the future to put into practice all those things that have been tucked away inside. Ready for a time like this. The time is now... next year will be exciting I think. I'm going to go to TAFE and do at least one course. That will be all day workshop type stuff and if I decide to do OHS as well, then I would hope that i can do that online. Gives me good valid reasons for Mia to go to care 2 days a week hehe.

Denise our office lady starts properly on the 23rd! YAY.
