yep, found out yesterday. It was 95% going to be and it is sure better to know that to imagine the worst. We still don't know heaps as the Urologist is not back now until Jan 12 so he has an appt then and then a CT scan to see if it has spread. That will determine treatment options. Best outcome is contained and surgical removal. At least contained is the best option.
Dad is OK, he told me on the phone and i was surprised how good he was. So I guess cause of that I feel OK too. Mum I'm not so sure about. My/our biggest concern is Dad's mental health.

Dead Wilma and Hip-pups
Yes I know that its an unfortunate title considering my last post, but I just had to record this...
Bethany often uses my old Discman CD player, with one particular CD in it. There is a song that B sings like this
"the gates of hell will not prevail Dead Wilma prevail" (correct words the gates of hell will not prevail, will not prevail)
LOL LOL LOL funny girl. So now both of them have been prancing around singing Dead Wilma!
And the hip-pups - Mia had them last night - hiccups lol.
Did 7 hours today, was booked for 4! The best bit was though that i was doing anaesthetics, its much more interesting! Better conversations if the moods are good and they were today although we had all had it! 19 patients and 23 procedures I think we did. 10 hours. I left at 6 and there was probably a good 2 hours left, but I wasn't staying. Learnt some stuff too which was cool!

So much death...
yeah great topic! But there is atm. Day carer's MIL last week, Mum's friends DH last Friday, family friends Mum on Sunday and yesterday we found out that one of my Dad's best mates sons hung himself on Sunday night :( He was a year older than me, we used to hang around together when we were younger when our Dad's did stuff, we've been camping with them etc. Haven't seen him for a long time. He has a little boy. So so sad, and the worst thing is they don't know why he did it. He had not been diagnosed with any illness, there were no signs of any issues, his parents had seen him that day and he appeared to be fine. Looks like there was some critical incident between a few hours and that was it. The police are looking in to it and gee i hope they find at least part of a reason or someone who can shed some light on it for his poor family. My Dad was really cut up about it, he was one of the first people the family called. So so sad, has really shaken me up.
And then, Dad has his biopsies next week. We MAY find out results before Christmas but if not it will be after Jan 13. That seems like ages when we have already waited 2months for all these appointments. I would prefer to wait until after Christmas just so we can get that all done. But every day means if it is cancer then the chance of spread increases. Worries me how he will cope if it is cancer. Please Lord, if it is let it not have spread and it can be surgically removed and that is it. Sounds so simple!

Yes...
I am still alive! Haven't felt like blogging, not like there is nothing to say but just couldn't be bothered. Sooooooooooooo whats the goss at our house.
Girls
- going well. Miss M has made up for the late talking and chats away with most things being understood. She has a very quick temper though, she's very quick to turn the tears on and hit or push Bethany. A little conversation we had on Monday. For some reason, we were talking about speaking nicely to people and Mia told me that Bethany doens't always talk nicely to her.
Me: what does she say
M: STOP HITTING ME (yes said loudly!)
LOL we then had a little chat about hitting! They have been fightng a bit the last few days, just niggling at each other.
Bethany is getting excited about school. It's going to be a long wait for her to start. I think we are pretty much organised, for stuff anyways. Just need to find out our days. She continues to surprise me with her reading - can't take any credit for it! She read Ikea today! Ah yes, i've taught her well.

Speaking of Ikea, I went there yesterday. A friend and I went to Melbourne for a day just to go shopping. I wanted to go Ikea to get some storage stuff for the house. I spend a bit of money *cough* but got all that i wanted. I could have got more, but put some stuff back. I am really happy with what i ended up with although the storage for the play room was smaller than what i thought. So hope I haven't ripped ourselves off with space there. They really are so cheap, obviously some of the stuff is cheap and nasty but mostly its great. Their plastics are great - we got the girls a table and chairs set when B was about 18mths old and it is going strong. The store there is MASSIVE, I walked around it probably 5 times, its like a maze. I was surprised about the staff knowledge there, but I guess they work in their own little section frequently so get to know the stuff, rather than the whole store. But the service in the self serve furniture section wasn't that great, they were happy to let me struggle with 2 trolleys. Had i not really wanted the stuff I would have walked out. At first my head was spinning and i had to go and sit in the restaurant and really sort out what i wanted. If we lived on the mainland, I think our house would be full of Ikea furniture, most of it is very modern and just what we like. There is also other shops underneath, so i got some of Jamie's Christmas presents plus found bathrrom stuff for the girls bathroom. Nice acrylic ones that will be very difficult to break but looks nice.

shouldn't write them together should I, but really there is not one without the other. Its hard to separate them, its not just a job but a life. The biggest issue at the moment is a new PA. We sold some to buy more, but then i thought that we had decided not to do anything this year, and subhire for the festivals. But no... he's decided on a system that is probably the best in the country (I say probably because it is, but we haven't heard it so its still only by reputation) and so with premium product comes premium price. We have had to cut it back because the repayments were massive. If the company we are buying from does what they say, then I think its a good option. It's just a massive risk.
That should be it for now... there's more to comment on but had enough typing!

I think I'm nesting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But not due to being pregnant! For some reason, the spring cleaning bug has hit in full force and i'm decluttering and re-organizing. There is still a ways to go but I've done a lot, but not really finished any one room yet
Kitchen
- redone pantry
- swapped platters and dishes with medicine cupboard
- sorted all medicine cupboard out, all in boxes and clearly labelled (I found about 30 boxes of matches!!! which is quite funny as we don't have a fire lol)
- cleaned off and around microwave
- partly sorted utensil drawers, hmm not sure if these will ever be OK!
- moved tea towels to bottom drawer from linen cupboard (they are more often used for dolly blankets than in the kitchen!)
- moved good crockery to cupboard, little containers etc to drawer and now have cups and drinking stuff in a drawer. One free drawer for camera etc
- considering moving appliances to bottom of pantry so I can get to them easier, but not sure what would then go in the corner cupboard. I wonder if tupperware would be better in that cupboard... hmm thought to that one!
- oh the cupboard next to the fridge is half done, need to tackle this one
Linen Cupboard
- sorted and tossed recipe books, moved them to new shelf
- moved gift wrap etc to under our bed
- girls now have a tub of linen under their beds
- moved all swimming gear in to new tub
- sorted paints and craft stuff, tossed a lot and moved it around so more accessible
- moved all spare towels, napkins, table runners etc in to big tub
- put all cleaning cloths etc in to one tub
- moved all board games to top shelf
- face washers will soon make their way to the bathroom
- need to put our linen in our room
Our room
- added a couple of plastic tubs for shoes, handbags etc
- a new basket on my bedside drawers for my crap, but its too big need a smaller one
- not much else in here will tackle that later
B's room
- rearranged cupboard, new boxes etc for clothes, looks much better and should work
- toy box gone, now has 2 tubs under her bed for generic toys
- her drawing matter is a problem, she really needs a new desk with storage, dependant on house extensions
- new hook on back of door needs at least one more
M's room'
- sorted presents at top of her cupboard
- have sorted her cupboard partly
- new bins for the change table for her knickers and stuff
- toy boxes under the cot
- very much a work in progress this room, she needs a bed at some point and that will probably change everything

Random thoughts...
We are back, actually a few days ago lol. We had a good time, although the girls were driving us a bit batty cause they were really tired from late nights.
Some random thoughts triggered by who knows what and some goings on in our house
- is it better to be in a good local church that is part of a not so good greater network, OR be in a not so good local church that is part of a better bigger network? These are the thoughts triggered by conversations with friends down the coast. Something we are struggling with atm and who knows what the outcome will be.
- the current world financial crisis, I really don't know what to think. I feel a bit like an ostrich with my head in the sand, not thinking about the impact will be on us
- Jamie has a new job! The employers are great, money is good, relatively secure and best of all he gets to keep doing what he is doing now!
- I met with our new accountant/business advisor yesterday, very positive meeting.
- I am madly trying to organise our house, getting things in to storage containers. Problem though is I am not doing one room at a time, rather everything at once and nothing is done! I have decided to store each rooms linen in there so freeing the linen cupboard for stuff like girls craft.

Let me...
sniff your bottom. What the?????? Yes Bethany and Mia are playing dogs and that is what i heard B just say to Mia!!!! I was laughing too much to even growl. LOL. So yes i think we are toilet training, at least she's still in knickers today with no accidents and taking herself to the potty when she needs to go. She wore a pull up today to Dr Harry's Farm and glad she did as there was only one toilet, the weather was yuk and it would have not been fun. So there you go, we are on the way.
So yes, we went to Dr Harry's Farm today, its about 30min or so from our house. Sadly the farm is closing to the public tomorrow due to Dr Harry's ill health. So when we heard that, we decided to go, partly as we had a 2 for 1 voucher. And it was good too, Mia got a bit narky here and there cause of the smells, but overall they had a great time. It is an amazing set up, the infrastructure is awesome. Its such a shame its closing to the public. We were told Dr Harry wasn't there today but at the end of the tour we went to the cafe and he was there to meet us, so we got autographs and some pics with him i'll add later. So that was nice to see him.
And yes, 2 posts in 2 days - thats more than my total posts last month!

Toilet Training...
I can't believe we are at this stage with Mia. Where has my baby gone? :( I realised the other day that this age i don't remember with Bethany probably cause Mia was a baby and i was sleep deprived. Or maybe B was just different! She was full on lol.
Anyhoo, so Mia has used the toilet a few times, but showing no real signs of being ready. Last night I asked her if she wanted to wear big girl knickers and she said yes, and got very excited. We got the potty out and the step stool for the toilet. We bought some new knickers for her this morning. So amazingly, we have had no wet nappies or no accidents today, all done in the potty or toilet. I'm not calling her toilet trained as yet but its a good start. She even called out tonight to use the potty when she was in bed and had a nappy on. So very happy with that. B trained in half a day :o I still can't believe that so I'm not sure it could be that easy twice! Will see how she goes, would be nice to be done when Judy gets back from holidays.
Other interesting facts...
- day carer is on leave, so not much work happening for me which is fine as work is quiet too
- we are therefore going down the coast for a few days next week
- John John the guinea pig died yesterday. We bought him in March but he went to live with Nanna. Nanna was brushing him and he just died. Poor Nanna she was very upset! Our girls weren't though lol. I don't mind them being exposed to death in animals. We've had 2 fish die of late and one other looking decidedly unwell so its been a discussion point!
- work is good other than quiet. It's settle down a bit thankfully.

Hello there!
Yes I still exist. Yes I am busy, but no great reason for not blogging. Have had good intentions but haven't done it. So here I am. I am acutally using Jamie's laptop and i really don't like the keyboard so i might not last long!
So what's happening in our house?????
Work work work lol. I am enjoying work, have had opportunities to do some stuff and there was a job i was considering applying for. I didn't but have been encouraged to ask if I could do a late app. But I won't, i do kinda want the work but it soooo not the right time for us. Being casual suits our family at the moment. Being an educator in a clinical environment is probably what would tick all the boxes for me. Being that I can't imagine going back to the public sector thats probably not even something that will come up with the private setting here. Who knows, time will tell. Right now family has to be the priority.
Jamie has a fair bit on which is good. We are also selling two systems, one of which will allow for the purchase with what I very much hope will be THE final system to cover all bases. The other will cover the majority of our debts taking pressure off. So all that is great. We are also waiting on hearing about a contract, which will also be very beneficial. It will mean a lot of sacrifice for our family and the girls will probably struggle with it a bit but thats what it takes.
Girls - they are good, have had colds and Mia has been quite unwell but they are both getting better. Sleeping has improved a little too, particularly the going to bed bit. There for a while they were both calling out heaps and stuff. Driving me nuts!
I need to write down some stuff about Mia. You kinda always think you'll remember this stuff, but experience tells me you don't cause I've forgotten stuff about Bethany already.
Mia
- at 2 years 5mths is a very funny little girl
- she wants to have long hair so gets around with either long ribbons, scarves or even tea towels on her head!
- she's very independent, hard to talk her in to doing anything
- her speech has really improved in the last 2-3 months, you can now have a good conversation with her. Not much is not understandable. Definite sentences now with only the little joining words missing
- one word used a lot is 'no'
- she was calling Bethany "B Howell" but that has changed in the last week to 'Befany'
- Eddie is still her most loved and fave friend. As soon as she has him, the fingers go in the mouth
- she is a very cuddly little girl, often the arms are up in the air with 'cuddle' the instruction
- she loves her purple beanie, often wears it to bed!
I think thats it for now, i'm sure i'll think of more.

As usual... been a while!
Been busy working. Have done 4 days this week. Thats fine with me but not so fine with the house or my kids apparently! 3 is really the max that keeps things ticking over properly and it really depends on who has the kids for that extra day as to just how functional things are. I think as things settle a bit, I will end up with 2 or 3. Next week is only 2 booked, and one is Friday so I will have Thursday at home by myself and so a day of housework which will really be nice.
Bethany had her tap concert today. They did a routine to Teddy Bears Picnic and were all dressed up as little teddies. Very cute. She did so well, was right at the front and she could see us which was nice. So she was very excited and loved watching the whole concert. HOWEVER, at the end they were all asked back on the stage for trophy presentation. The kids (B being one of them) who had only started since last years concert received a First Time on Stage Certificate, which she was clearly excited about UNTIL there began a presentation of trophies. The first lot of around 60 were grooming trophies. Now these were for kids who had been dancing since the last concert, and had come to every lesson with their hair done appropriately (slicked bun for tap and slicked off face for jazz) plus the correct uniform. Now of course B didn't get one of these cause she hadn't been dancing since the last concert. I could see her face (she was sitting at the front of the group) and I could read her mind and her face was getting more and more worried as the trophies went on. They presented trophies for most improved, encouragement etc. So anyway the curtains close and I go behind stage to find her holding the hand of her teacher. She promptly came over to me, buried her head in my leg and burst in to tears. She wanted a trophy too :( poor thing, I just knew what she was thinking and there was really no great way to explain it to a 4 year old. To her it was just plain unfair. But it opened conversation for us later to talk about life being unfair and we just have to get on with it. I totally understand why they do it, but i think new families to dancing should get some info about this prior so they can word them up. I am going to send B's certificate back to get signed and send a note with it, just to ask that in future they send info to avoid what we went through today. Poor little girl, just ruined it for her. And no its not fair, but hey thats life.
Thats all for now - wanted to record that for today. My little girl, was really proud of her also proud of how she reacted to that, waiting until the curtain had closed to cry!

Bethany had her tap concert today. They did a routine to Teddy Bears Picnic and were all dressed up as little teddies. Very cute. She did so well, was right at the front and she could see us which was nice. So she was very excited and loved watching the whole concert. HOWEVER, at the end they were all asked back on the stage for trophy presentation. An arvo of cooking...
odd that recent posts seem to all be about cooking! I've been doing it a lot lately, home made biccies and treats for the girls rather than buying.
This arvo I made banana pikelets again, a good way to use up those ripe bananas, give the girls a relatively healthy feed plus tomorrows breakfast lol.
I also made chicken, bacon and camembert parcels for tea. Along with roast spuds and cauli and broc au gratin. So the oven is on and i have just reheated a bag of frozen Amish Cookies and now in is a tray of sultana and white choc cookies. So the biccie tin will be full again. I've made a couple of batches of biscuits that make heaps and freeze them in to rolls. Then when we need some biccies or the oven is on I can pop a tray in to cook. Heaps easier and cheaper too. There's some fabbo bulk recipes out there.
What else... hmmm oh I know! I am going to Melbourne!!! YAY. Going to this
and the best bit is I am not going alone. When I started teaching scrapping classes last year, my bestie from way back started coming along, so she is coming with me. We will only go for the day as it is so close to Christmas, plus child care - she has 3 little ones. So we will head over and back and no doubt come home exhausted after a full on day. Of course that is assuming I get tickets when they are released next week. It will be limited numbers.
Work is going really well. I feel much more settled there now and can actually think about the extra things that need doing. I have working mainly in recovery which i like, done admissions and doing that again tomorrow. That is really brain taxing. Busy getting people sorted out for in and then getting organised for out. I did a quick stint in the proc room last week doing anaesthetics, pretty scary when you haven't a clue what you are doing and not getting much help from anyone in there! Oh well, no one died lol. Yes thats the yardstick. So back tomorrow, am getting plenty of work, more than i want really. Could easily do 5 days a week inc overtime. I have a feeling that tomorrow night will not be an early one!
Jamie is busy too, a fair bit on which is great. We have money in the bank which is a cool thing! Not for long lol as GST is due next Monday!
Its hard to believe that 2 months ago we were in QLD. It was the best holiday, just awesome family time. Very good memories. But things have been so so hard since being home. Not just for us, in fact what we've been going through is nothing compared to some of our very dear friends. It's certainly been challenging to my faith. But I know God is good, good will come, He promises that. I also believe strongly for a restored relationship, but in time. His time not ours.

Her and Mia are playing in the lounge room, and it was bed time so she put her and Mia to bed and the lights off so the rooster crowing was morning time lol. Funny kids. Because I've Lost My Recipe Book...
i'm posting this recipe here. It's Banana Pikelets from Symply Too Good No 1.
Mix 2 egg whites and 1/4C sugar. Add 1 1/4C SR flour (I use wholemeal), 3/4C skim milk. Mash 3/4C banana (i use whatever on old) to that add 1/2tsp bicarb. Add banana to rest and mix.
Cook... easy peasy. Makes a lot and are good for the kids. Great breaky food.
Now to cook some more food for the freezer. Probably corn and bacon muffins for my work lunches. Maybe some choc chip biscuits as well.

Some days
this parenting gig is hard hard hard work and I want to put in my resignation! Of course I don't really, but its these days that I look forward to bed time. To many tantrums today and not just from the kidlets ;) I'm tired and the house is a mess, its when jamie is away that working gets to me. But a day off next week yay. I am working Tues and Fri, so thurs while the girlies are at day care, mummy will be at home. w00t!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A greenie from way back?
Hmm don't know about that but I am getting quite excited about making my own soaps and detergents! Sad lol. No not really and its not really about the 'green' side of it, more about saving money. I made my first batch of hand soap today, did a lemon jelly recipe but used oranges instead. Went really thick so its currently boiling again with more water.
What else have i done?
- made 2 batches of raspberry jam
- made my own yoghurt not using a whole sachet of easiyo, just a couple of tablespoons, gives a whole batch for about $1.
- lots of food in the freezer
- lots of baking for snacks
- about to make a batch of laundry liquid
- and probably more
and I am enjoying it. There's so much out there to find to live more frugally and therefore also reduce our footprint on the earth.
We are also going to get chooks!!!!!!!!! Very excited about that one!

Update
thanks to those that have enquired if I am ok! Appreciate it.
It's not a situation i can share here, its not my story to tell. All I can say is that it is a situation i would never have imagined to be going through with these people. All i can do is pray for them, and give our fullest love and support and belief that in time, they will be OK.
Started work yesterday which was really nice, I enjoyed it. I think because of the current life goings on, i appreciated my mind being consumed with that rather than the stresses of life. So i think it is going to be a great thing for me. b was really excited about me nursing! Funny.

Not feeling so...
strongly as i did last night. All of those are still there, but the tears that were so close to the surface are for the minute not there. More frustrated this morning. I guess its a cycle of grief. No doubt the anger will reappear and the urge to smack someone around the head will return.

We are home...
:( lol we didn't want to come back but we had to! We had such as awesome time. It was soooooooooo good I can't even begin to describe it. We went to Movie World 3 times, Wet n Wild once, Sea World 3 times and Australia Zoo. The girls loved the theme parks. We had a Super Pass hence the many visits. It was good, as we could stay for the morning or arvo knowing we could go back.
The girls were not 100% when we get there, in fact B was still quite sick. She took a good 4-5 days to really come right both physically and emotionally. She was terribly grumpy at times. She took 2-3 days to really start talking and jumping around like her old self.
I was very brave and went on the Superman Escape roller coaster and The Batwing at Movie World. The Batwing scared me the most but in reality it was quite tame. The Superman Escape was AMAZING. I loved it and wanted to go back but didn't. Jamie went on it too and he loved it.
Bethany was brave and went on the Road Runner rollercoaster which wasn't that little lol. I was so scared when her and Jamie went on it but she was fine and went on it again with me. Initially she wasn't going on it, but she changed her mind and was very determined about it. She also went on the Pirate Ship at SeaWorld which she hated haha.
Mia went on all the rides at Sesame St Beach at SeaWorld but could really only do a couple at Movie World. But she just loved the carousels so was happy to do that repeatedly!
We went to Wet n Wild one arvo, it was very windy so the girls got cold very quickly. That would be an awesome place when they are a bit bigger.
We had great accomodation in both places. Loved the Sunshine Coast - got to see a lot of family which was nice.
Australia Zoo was excellent, I would like to go back. We didn't see everything despite being there the whole day. Its a great set up, awesome for the kids. We didn't get to see Bindi! B was a bit disappointed about that, as well as the Croc Men not being there lol. But it is very hands on - feeding elephants etc so that was great for the girls.
I went in a printed out some pics today - all 400 of them! I want to scrap them in an album for the girls. Along with the bits and pieces we collected. I'll post some later.
Before I go...
Mia seems to have grown up a lot in the last 4 weeks or so, more 3 word sentences happening. Yesterday she went to the couch, patted it and said "sit here mummy" - so i sat down and she backed up to me for a cuddle :) Last night she was calling out from her room "big cuddle mummy" as i'd been in earlier and given her a little cuddle! This "cuddle me" thing started when she was sick. She says me like "meeee" Cute girl she is. She coped really well with being away.

I've been thinking for a while that i should be writing down the funny things Mia says. Here's a few things

b howell = thats bethany lol. She used to call her 'b' but now its b howell
gon gon = John the guinea pig
ru ra = ruby rabbit her stuffed toy
and of course cause i want to write it down i can't remember any others!
Anyhoo...
the girls are sick. Mia is on the improve but B is not great. She has no voice! For anyone that knows her, they would understand that this is faaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrr from normal. It's very strange her not speaking! Mia didn't have a voice but did keep trying to talk but B is only talking as needed. She has a very dry tight cough but it hurts her to cough so she is reluctant. She must be feeling a bit better this arvo cause she has got off the couch and made a tent in the lounge room. Hopefully by tomorrow night she'll be on the improve as well before we fly off in to the sunset on wednesday! So we've had a few bad nights of sleep - I slept in B's bed last night from 2am, tonight i think i'll just put her in our bed and jamie can sleep in hers. As least then I'll be comfortable if not asleep ;)
Managed to get a bit of packing done today so feel much better about it all. B will stay home from judy's tomorrow and help me get the rest done. Really only have the last bit of stuff to do - washing to do tonight and then get the last bit of stuff in. I'll get as much in tonight as i can and then tomorrow i will have more time to do some cleaning. Really want to leave the house tidy so it is not stressful to come home to.
I really can't believe that our holiday is so close now. Jamie seems somewhat organised too which in itself is amazing! It always seems so stressful to get to the airport but once you are on that plane there is no changing anything. The only thing that concerns me in the slightest is the seating allocation on the plane. Ideally i'd like 2 lots of 2 - jamie will sit with b and mia with me. then hopefully they can both have a window seat. I might give virgin a call, see if i can request anything. Won't be home to do online check in and not sure how many bags we will take

I have a job...
wow! Yep I had an interview this morning at St V's campus of Calvary. And I have a job! Casual in the Endoscopy Suite Tues and Thurs 9-4. With opportunities to follow. So not sure where it will lead or how it will go. Scary. I was so nervous at the interview but pleased that some of it is just like riding a bike. There is a lot of nursing still in me, i just need to dig it out!

So much...
to be thankful for.
- we are healthy
- we have a warm and cosy house
- we have 2 beautiful children that love and are loved
and thats only the start.
Things are not good in the Howell house at the moment, its all business stuff - money. Bad, really bad. We've made some dumb choices and put our head in the sand for too long. No more. It's got to the point of no more. What does it mean? Not sure yet. Waiting on a reply to an email. There are options and we have to pull our heads in. Time to budget. That will be a challenge for both of us! I will try and go back to work somewhere at least. Not sure where or when. I can't pull them out of child care cause then I can't work. Have sent info to a private hospital yesterday. That would kinda be good - endoscopy not awake patients or heavy loads. Plus they would agree to school hours.
Anyhoo the purpose of this post, not to whinge but to overcome. We WILL be OK. This will NOT get the better of us.
This is the first time my body has physically reacted to stress, I have not slept, I am hot/cold, feeling sick etc. Don't want to eat but trying to ease the nausea. Upside - i've lost some weight!
Ironically we are going on holidays in less than 2 weeks. In some ways it would make sense to stay home and sacrifice the air fare. But we need to get away. We need to be with our girls and refocus ourselves. I love my husband and girls - we have each other and in the scheme of things, thats enough.

Not much to say...
life goes on! Yep the days keep ticking on by.
MIA
I think Mia might be toilet training! Well at least getting toilet aware. Today she has only done 2 big wees. Both times has been when she has gone to bed and then she calls me to come and change her nappy. So thats a step in the right direction. B was 2yrs 5mths and Mia is 2yrs 1mth. She really is the sweetest thing. Loves cuddles. She does have firey side! She's pretty easy to get around though. She gets sent to her room, often going willingly and she doesn't take long to come out and do whatever it was that was needed, eg saying sorry etc.
BETHANY
is going well. Been having a few toilet issues. She's had increasing urinary frequency. GOING HEAPS. Nothing medically wrong other than very acidic urine. So she's been having Ural. Has been improving with the odd bad day/period. She's continuing to write and draw heaps. Starting to read a few short words. As I type she's busy down in her bedroom doing something. We keep Chickenfeed in business with paper purchases!

We are doing a parenting course and its good to be on the same page. We've always been pretty good at backing each other up, but this is good in the theory side. Jamie has had a few days off which has been nice. He'll go away tomorrow for a couple of days which i am actually looking forward to. The girls are at day care tomorrow and i really want to have a day of doing nothing. I need to do some scrapping and stuff but i want to chill out. I feel so tired. Exhausted

MIA
I think Mia might be toilet training! Well at least getting toilet aware. Today she has only done 2 big wees. Both times has been when she has gone to bed and then she calls me to come and change her nappy. So thats a step in the right direction. B was 2yrs 5mths and Mia is 2yrs 1mth. She really is the sweetest thing. Loves cuddles. She does have firey side! She's pretty easy to get around though. She gets sent to her room, often going willingly and she doesn't take long to come out and do whatever it was that was needed, eg saying sorry etc.
BETHANY
is going well. Been having a few toilet issues. She's had increasing urinary frequency. GOING HEAPS. Nothing medically wrong other than very acidic urine. So she's been having Ural. Has been improving with the odd bad day/period. She's continuing to write and draw heaps. Starting to read a few short words. As I type she's busy down in her bedroom doing something. We keep Chickenfeed in business with paper purchases!

We are doing a parenting course and its good to be on the same page. We've always been pretty good at backing each other up, but this is good in the theory side. Jamie has had a few days off which has been nice. He'll go away tomorrow for a couple of days which i am actually looking forward to. The girls are at day care tomorrow and i really want to have a day of doing nothing. I need to do some scrapping and stuff but i want to chill out. I feel so tired. Exhausted

What have i been up to...
a lot really.
A lot of the usual stuff I guess. Yesterday I went to a scrap retreat just for the day. It was for the shop I work at(The Scrap Shop). And I have to say it was great. Most of the girls I hadn't met, a few I had through the shop. But everyone was so welcoming and friendly. I went very prepared, about 6 pages in bags with their bits. So I did 4 singles, a double and the mini album class. Pretty slack photo taking but I had a helper! I haven't taken a pic of the mini album, its at the bottom of the box. Will do that later. It was designed by by Julie Love but she couldn't make it down. So Sal taught it. That was a laugh!!! It was good, made me much more confident to do one of the many I have here! I think I'll do one for MIL Mother's Day present out of probably MM Noteworthy and then I can use up some of the little journalling papers that go with it. Keep eyes open for that appearing soon, or not lol.

This is a pic taken by the talented Clair Bremner last year. The first family one I have scrapped. Using the delicious new Making Memories Garden Party range. I just love these papers. Very very pretty and girly. This LO needs some journalling.

This is my Dad and brother taken at the airport when Aran and Mum left for Canberra. Simple LO using the new BG Archaic papers. Great masculine range. I heat embossed the HS letters to match.

Another LO using the new MM Garden Party range. Also using Tim Holtz Fragments which are basically acyrlic pieces. I stuch pp on with xyron. Its not finished, needs journalling.

Edited to add... I forgot a LO. Maybe the most important of all! A picture of Aran and his medals. He ended up with 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze. They won gold in Soccer and his fourth from the breaststroke was upgrade to bronze due to someone else being DQ's. Sad for them.

My Brother - Double Olympic Gold Medallist!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds impressive doesn't it!!! And he is. Yes I am the proud sister of a double Gold medallist, plus a silver and a fourth!
My brother Aran is competing in the Junior Special Olympics in Canberra this weekend. He is doing swimming and soccer (they have to do 2 sports, one individual and one team). He had swimming this morning. His results
25m backstroke - second (by a fingernail, 0.04 of a second actually!)
50m freestyle - first
50m breaststroke - fourth
50m butterfly - first
So it's been an exciting day. Obviously we aren't there, but i was able to listen over the phone. Listen to Mum cheering him on and some commentary here or there. I didn't hear the last race as I was on the phone to my auntie, so that was disappointing to miss another win. He's so proud of himself, rightly so. I really didn't expect anything from him, but was really praying he would do well so he wasnt disappointed. Just to get a medal of any colour would have made him happy so to do so well is awesome.
I soooooooooo desperately wanted to be there, but it is soooooo expensive to fly in and out of Canberra. If Jamie had not been working, I would have probably gone and perhaps just taken Bethany. But not to be.
Mum was clearly very nervous, sideline coach as well! Not officially! He doesn't dive in, so against anyone who dives he is instantly behind. I'm not sure of who else was diving, but I know in the breaststroke he was behind from the start but he managed to catch up only to just be pipped for third.
I am so proud of him. When someone has a disability, there are many lows. There are highs too but they are probably fewer and perhaps not as high. But this is awesome, to have something that HE is good at, just him. He was also Grade 8 Swimming Champion at his school this year.
In the middle of posting, Mum rang and I listened to the presentation of his gold medal. How much i want to be there. :(

It's simple really...
I like bad food. Bad food tastes good! I especially like butter. Mmmmmmmm yum, butter on fruit buns, or fresh bread. YUM. I know how bad it is for me, especially with the medical history on both sides of my family. But oh my stars, its divine! You hear and read about emotional eating. I don't know if I am or not, I guess I am but often food is a reward for me. Lose weight and eat! LOL weirdo! Do some housework and eat! So food is a positive thing for me, but usually i eat cause I like it. It tastes good. So that said, the weight loss thing is not going so great. I stopped Kate Morgan before Easter - was too hard going away and stuff. And then it was my birthday. I was going to get going after that. Well... that was a week ago! Needless to say I haven't started again.
But today was a new day. Not a great eating day, but more thinking about food as fuel, input being less than output etc. So i've just done 12min on the tready. Not much but better than none. We made Anzac biccies today so that doesn't help. And I am planning to make Banana Pikelets for the girls tomorrow. Think i'll do them for breakfast, then it kills two birds with one stone hehe. I really want to cook more stuff like that for their lunchboxes, save a bit of money too. Using less processed flours and stuff too which is cool. Anyway... banana pikelets are super yummy with butter when they are hot hehe!
Speaking of cooking, Jamie cooked tea tonight. He made a meat pie inc pastry. And it was very very yummo. I was thinking that we might not eat until very late but we ate at 5pm! Which was great. Other than being hungry now!

Bethany is coming on in leaps and bounds with her writing. She can write all letters in upper and lower case and is always practising! She asks how to write so many things. She loves drawing and making things too. Yesterday she made a clock shop! Well she really just trashed her room, made it in to a shop and then made some clocks to sell! Glad she's not at school this year, but she would have loved it.

Just for Fee...
Hehe. We missed you last night too, wasnt the same without you! Did you like your gift? LOL. It was good, but I was sooooo tired. Next time, if you can't get a babysitter, sing out - there is probably someone around that would look after them, although the girls might not settle with a "stranger".
I also wanted to highlight these two people who I find really inspiring. Dunno why I am going to put this, cause i reckon the 3 people who read my blog already know about them lol. I have always been a fan of Nic Howard's scrapping, her work is very inspiring. Also, Mel Goodsell - she inspires me in a different way. Not only her scrapping, but her craft and just her family. I check these blogs usually daily if not more often!
The other thing I need to update is B's writing.

my girls love dancing. B has started tap dancing lessons which she loves. We don't get to watch them which is a bit annoying cause I have no idea if she actually does it or might even be slightly good at it! But it seems that Miss Mia wants to dance too! She tells us "tap tap" lol. As I type they are dancing round the lounge room to Hi5 Christmas. When we watch Dance on TV they dance in front of it! So who knows what the future will bring!
That's it. I need to move and keep doing stuff. I have pumpkins roasting for soup. We were having friends for tea tonight but she went and had a baby this morning! Welcome to the world little M. So I'll deliver the soup to them in a couple of days.

My baby....
is gone :( Yep Mia turns 2 tomorrow. I can't believe it. I don't even think i've written her birth story :o slack Mum I am!
She's talking more and more every day. Today she was carrying round a candle with a stick :s (number 4 in wax with a stick to poke in the cake) and the candle bit fell off. She looked at me and said "broke" LOL so pleased thats coming along. Other than in the night where she screams Mummmmeeeeeeeeeeeeee or Dadddddeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Thats not so good lol.

Update...
so much going on, where to start...
MELBOURNE
was good, Hyatt was very nice! We had a nice corner room with a great view. Was very quiet. Went for tea in China Town with a friend from Hobart! Had buffet breaky, and hit the dfo's. Worst thing - Eddie was lost while at Mums! Oh dear. So Mia didn't go to sleep til after midnight :o But Eddie was found the next morning! Yay. So that kinda ruined it for me cause I was worrying about her. Anyhoo everyone survived. Notice how I haven't mentioned the whole reason we went there! LOL the training was good and will be very useful. Taxi drivers were RUDE. Not going to be racist but far out. RUDE.
THE SOUND COMPANY
Going through some changes. As per usual. Made an appointment to meet a business consultant which will be great. Trying to put people in to the roles they are best suited to. It's crazy. Another festival this weekend. Easter will be insane.

Been asked to do more hours. Not sure how that will work just yet. Lots to sort out
- LIFE -
Growing Kids starts next Tuesday night. That will be a big commitment. 18 weeks. Will be good.
- WEIGHT LOSS -
Surprisingly is still happening. Seems a bit wrong really that i can eat crap and lost weight. Just imagine if I didn't eat the crap. But the crap has been yummy! Think Peking Duck in Mandarin Pancakes! YUM YUM YUM YUM Get my drift lol. YUM

Circle Journal Pics
Well, I'm the lucky first to get a completed CJ back from 3AS I feel very much like a fraud, considering I don't even go there any more :( no reason for that, its mostly that I don't do forums that well, just keeping up etc is not a strong point. I did seriously think about pulling out of the cj early on. But I didn't, and its nearly finished. I think I only have one to do.
Anyhoo, mine's the first finished, so I want to say thanks to everyone who did a page in a cj for someone they don't know :) I appreciate it.
So here's the pics - I'd love to say in all their glory, but the pics aren't that great. The pages IRL are though!

We go to Melbourne on Monday for one night - all paid!!! We are going to a training session with Yamaha. They are paying for flights and accomm - at THE GRAND HYATT!!! w00t. I'm thinking I might be disappointed though - it might be the usual hotel room. Anyhoo, no children for one night. Sleeping away means little sleep for me, but i'll take drugs to help with that hehe.

Thought it time to add
yeah I know its been a while! It's slowly decreasing which is tres cool!!! Good incentive now cause
"we're all going on an autumn holiday" YAY us!!! Gold Coast on May 14. w00t. For 7 nights. Double yay us! Very excited to get away.
Busy busy busy. Journey of a Princess done and dusted. Very successful event. High standard - we have a lot to live up to now!
Spent the morning in the office. Fun not! But its getting better. Catching up slowly.
What else - hmmm
kids good but Mia has changed her sleeping habits which is not fun! She's had a cold too. B is great, sooooooo busy always making stuff and using my stickytape! I think for Christmas I'll buy her a big box of the stuff!
Off to Melbourne Monday night for a work gig with Yamaha. Fully paid. w00t. No kids. w00t. But its a bit scary leaving them behind with both of us going off. I'm sure they'll be fine. Jamie will stay longer than me for product training and I'll just do the leasing part. Boring for sure, but a night away. Want to go to Gold Class movies at Crown.

Life as I know it...
right now is swaying towards being overwhelming! In fact, if i had blogged on Monday then I would have said totally overwhelming. It really depends on how tired i am as to how i am coping as probably per everyone.

Weigh in...
Only 300gm down but at least its a loss and I have had a really bad food week. Not normal bad prior to meeting Kate but bad for being on a diet. So could have been better but it makes for 2kg in 2 weeks. Happy with that.

Happy Birthday Miss Bethany
We love you so much honey. You are just a delight. You have changed our lives and brought so much happiness into our family. You are a ball of energy though have really settled in the last year. You love to have fun...

I was inspired by Mel Goodsell to post thing that I love about her, the number of which correlate to the current birthday... so here goes.
1. I love your beautiful eyes. Seems odd to start with such a superficial thing, but your big blue eyes are so expressive and just light up my day.
2. I just love your sense of fun. You live to have fun. May it never leave you.
3. The way you care for your sister just warms my heart. Not for one minute have you not wanted her in our life. You accepted her from the first minute you met her and have loved her with all your heart ever since. You can't wait for her to wake up in the morning. I hope you always appreciate the blessing of a sister, may you always be each others best friend.

A big day...
yep its been a big one. Started at around 6am with a very excited birthday girl waking us up and absolutely delighted with her cake, balloon and presents. The face was lovely and the "its what I wanted comments" came too! Gotta love that!
Was a bit of a downer for us early (just me and J) - work issues with a particular person got me very very upset and then her main present - a Leapster L-Max didn't work. So I had to do a rushed trip in to town to replace - and of course none to be found, so I got the last Leapster in town which has been a big hit.
She has done really well for a 4 year old. We gave her aforementioned Leapster, a singing Barbie which has been long coveted by her lol, a sleeping bag and a cute dress. Mia gave her the Bindi DVD which is great for dancing. She also got - a Coles Myer voucher from BIL and family, colouring books, stickers and $40 from MIL, tap shoes from my parents (too small to her disgust so another trip to town tomorrow to swap them) plus a voucher for the Ballet Shop which we will get a bag for her tap shoes, plus a cute little ballerina figurine from Aran. So thats a pretty good haul, when you consider there are other presents such as Barbie things, paints etc that have come from her little friends. So she's been pretty happy with it all.
She desperately wanted an aeroplane cake - and of course I have no pics do I - forgot to take my camera! But I will have one later of part of the cake. The aeroplane had a little dome full of smarties on top, and THAT is the reason for wanting the cake! Funny girl, she is such a lolly fiend. She ate so many at her little party today, she's lucky she copes OK with them.
So she had a little party at Judy's cause they were at day care for the day so that was nice and easy, having said that, i hardly sat down all day. Between party food, getting ready for BBQ and all the other stuff, I'm exhausted.

TSC is doing well atm. It's been an interesting ride the last 12 months as things have changed. We lost some big contracts but have got these two massive festivals coming up - one on Saturday and then one on Feb 16. It's pretty stressful, more so for Jamie. There is a lot of people hoping we fail which really sucks, but understandable! We won't though! Hehe. Its been a difficult time, dealing with people what we can't fully trust and who are out to make their profit and who cares about the rest. Come the end of the day I am just hoping our profit is OK.
We have a new book keeper starting tomorrow. The office is just in a mess and I feel very out of control, but i know this new one is going to be far far better and so in the long run a very good thing.

the Australian Open is on - and talk about some good tennis. There have been some fabulous matches in the rounds, hopefully it continues.
Yes I'm rambling... very very tired
I was actually going to post about Bethany's birth, we really my feelings around it. But honestly I'm too tired.

Was a bit of a downer for us early (just me and J) - work issues with a particular person got me very very upset and then her main present - a Leapster L-Max didn't work. So I had to do a rushed trip in to town to replace - and of course none to be found, so I got the last Leapster in town which has been a big hit.

Four tomorrow...
where has my baby gone? This time four years ago I was freaking out about going in to be induced, knowing that i was putting my body in for something it wasn't ready for. But no regrets of that choice.
She's an awesome girl. Love her to bits. She's funny and mostly caring! She just wants to have fun all the time, she lives for the fun times!!

So its official....
I love bread :) Actually I love carbs :( I find myself missing food to chew in my mouth. Which is odd, because I am still having fruit, vegies and meat - so its not like I am on a totally liquid diet. And i admit to cheating :) and I know that I am the only one who is going to pay for the cheating, it will just be a slower process. But I have to tell ya, that piece of Kinder Bueno I had last night was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. And I wolfed it down like I had never seen chocolate before. And today i once piece of crust off Bethany's sandwich and the consistency in my mouth was yummo! Sad but true. Anyhoo, the promise of tonight is keeping me going!!!
Today is our 11th wedding anniversary! Happy anniversary to us! 11 years wow! Who woulda thunk it! Love ya Jamie. Must finish his card while he's away hehe.
On that note better go.

Weight Loss
It was an ongoing thing last year, I did manage to shift a few kilos and got down to pre pregnancy weight. Still more to go. Motivation is lacking so i know i need to do something fairly strict to get my body shifting the fat again. Sooooooooo today i have started on the Kate Morgan programme :o I'm still not sure why, do I see this as an easy way? Dunno, I sure don't see it as a long term answer which I know is what is needed. I don't really believe in these sorts of diets as the answer to long term weight loss and maintenance of that weight loss. So it is kinda confusing to me as to why I am doing this. I am really only looking at this as short term, 6 weeks or so I think. Actually probably my birthday at the end of March.

Haven't blogged all year!!!!
Happy 2008!!!
Yep no blogging again from me! So there is a lot to say. Lots happening... so in brief
- mum and aran went camping at greens beach
- we visited and B spent a night with them much to her excitement
- i decided not to go to hobart so went to greens beach for 2 nights in the cabins
- us girls all had gastro - oh the pain :( B just had diarrhoea, i had really bad cramps and both d and v for a day, mia had d and v but no cramps i don't think
- mia is consequently stick skinny combined with a growth spurt, only today started eating again
- scrapping, done a bit, finished an album for a class, and need to get back in to it
- currently sick of packing up scrapping and having supplies sitting around
- put 2 ideas to s for 2 more classes which she is happy for me to desgin :)
- been to movies to see Chipmunks - man they are cute!
- really hot weather so outside a bit in pool etc
- day care starts next week yay!
- our book keeper quit last week :o not happy Jan. But the new one starts tomorrow and i think this will be even better!
- j busy with festivals and stuff, doing some big shows in the next month
- ummm thats it probably!!!
Oh I know, the reason I decided to blog was that i just needed to say that Mia is finally talking!!! yay very excited about that. Saw her speechie at the supermarket today, funny cause i started an sms to send her today! Her words now include
- pool
- pole for icy pole
- Eddie
- Dad deeeeeeeee
- Ma
- B
- shhhh for shoes
and lots more
she called the beach "Ma's pool" which Ma thought was pretty cool LOL. Then on Wed she said "Eddie pool" cause she wanted to put Eddie in the pool hehe. So even getting two words together sometimes. So thankful that things on that front are now looking OK. Just need her to eat and fatten up a bit!!!
