I should post...

about Christmas before I forget!

We had a great day - didn't start too early, 6.30am which is about normal time for my girls. There was great excitement from Bethany over her Santa presents "just what i wanted" was the exclamation. Funnily enough it WASNT what she was wanting lol. But the desired Barbie ipod toy thing wasn't mentioned all day and hasnt been since! She gave me the biggest hug when she opened her Polly Pocket Jumbo Jet. She played with it a lot on the day and yesterday, but not much since. But I know over time she'll use it heaps, she just loves Pollys. In fact, she scored more today - they got a gift card from Myer from their cousin and she chose more Pollys. I'm happy with that choice though. Mia didn't score, there was nothing there that Mia would really use that was a good price. They both scored some cute denim overalls today too.

Back to Christmas...

Mia was also very happy with her baby and she has given lots of cuddles to her. My little Mummy lol. They also both LOVE their trampoline and we are very happy with it. It's so safe I have no worries about them being on it. It's given my pelvic floor muscles a workout :o LOL TMI sorry.

MIL bought them a plastic cubby house which again was well received. B got a beauty case full of goodies from Mum etc and Mia got a 3 wheel baby pram. Again both loved. My bro did a good choice with all his presents too - other than both the girls things were battery operated! We did well with batteries though, a few remain battery less lol.

A good day was had, minimal stress but tiring at the end. Girls were really well behaved, have slept well since etc.

B is at mum's tonight, has been gone 4 hours or so already, feels like ages.

I am going in to the shop tomorrow to scrap, just some time out for me before jamie gets busy again.

Thats it for now...

Introducing...

Bottletop Bill and his best friend Corky :) Well not really lol, but B made these with sausages the other night at tea time and I said it looked like Corky, so then she made Bottletop Bill. But in this photo he has lost his head LOL. She played with them all night and i took them from her room before they went off and disappeared!

Some more pics to share...

I made this bottle holder for some Irish Cream that I made. Some for us and some for a gift :)

Getting ready for our last dance lesson last Saturday, I tried to get some pics. This is what happened. Hehe

And look what just landed on my doorstep. I have been getting Sissey kits for 6 months now and I am very impressed. I think they are great value for money, mind you i've never sat down and tried to figure out what the value is. They are a lovely mix of products and I am especially impressed with the December kit. I already have a project in mind for the papers :) Can't upload the pic of the pp but they are lush and I am off to hunt down more :)

Stuff...

so much going on as usual. Not just Christmas...

CANCER
Horrid word isn't it, and so much of it around. My bestie lives in the USA, we met in 1993 and we last saw each other in 1997, she came over for our wedding :) Her DH has rectal cancer and in an hours time is having surgery. He has been through radiation and strong chemo, which have had a great result and today they are removing what is left of the tumour. Read here for their story. It's been really hard being so far away, knowing S is struggling with all that it involves and still having to function, while watching her man go through that. I would have done anything to be there IRL for her :( Made me realise again just how hard it is to be so far away and not share the day to day stuff.

Also, a good friends Mum has just had a not great diagnosis with a brain tumour. I won't say more her cause their story isn't on the www so not my place to put it there! But they know our prayers are with them.

CHRISTMAS

is coming lol. We wrapped all the girls presents yesterday and I am proud of myself cause I don't feel like i went overboard. The trampoline is in the state! Yay, and it should arrive in Lton today and Jamie will pick it up this week.

I finished his mini album yesterday, with my new Bind It All. Man thats a nifty machine! I love it, so easy. I laminated all the pages and some were a bit wonky! Oh well lol, its done. I just need to finish the trees for the table and then make cards for the girls and Jamie. Other than that its really just Christmas cooking to do.

STUFF
Girls are great - both have had viruses in the last few days but just temps. Jamie has only Burnie Carols this Sunday and thats work done. We have a busy week with getting friends moved house, and church leaders BBQ on Saturday night which will be funner than the last BBQ where it poured! At least with this one we can go inside.

Thats it for today, I have pics to share but we are taking the girls to the Gorge for a swim this morning so need to get moving.

Some pics...

Sand Art Brownies - made for playgroup hamper and was impressive LOL

Playdough, 4 made this morning and lots more to go!

A Santa album. I got inspired when Dee posted hers the other night. I have a peace one half done and a tree one to do. These are super easy and look great!

These next two are some roses on my bench. :) they came from my front garden and they are lovely. Very proud of them but can't claim any credit cause I barely do anything for them, they just grow themselves lol.

Inspired by...

Trying to fill the EB void I've been blog hopping a bit more. I don't normally visit blogs of the more well known scrappers, but I have been cruising around a bit to see what's out there. But there is one particular blog that has been inspiring me and that is Mel Goodsell. Not only is Mel a talented lady but she is lovely, well is in emails lol. She offered to buy me some hooks that I saw in a pic on her blog, - I emailed her to find out where she got them as they were something I was trying to find for my girls. She offered to go and buy them for me, it didn't happen as the shop were sold out, but that is just lovely to offer that to a complete stranger. And she lives in the same state, so she must be good!!! Mel is doing 25 days of Christmas craft, and i've got a few ideas from her.

I must take some pics today of all the things I've done for Christmas presents, I'm in the middle of making about 12 batches of playdough :o Nice easy pressie for kids though.

Better run...

Howdy...

well, whats going on. Seems like a super busy weekend. I'd just love a day to sit, and be by myself.

I have a shocking head and back atm, had a massage last night, left covered in bruising from cupping and sore! To be expected cause it was crap prior! Don't know why its been so bad. Horrid. Anyway, had an amazing nights sleep after i got warm. Had to wear winter pj's and and socks and 2 heat packs cause I couldn't warm up. The cupping does that to me. Don't think I woke all night, Jamie slept downstairs when he came home and the girls slept in from a late night. I think thats partly why i feel so bad today too, want more lol.

I read something that really clicked with me on friday. It was talking about personal life goals, and assessing all activities as how they fit in to achieving your life goals. It made so much sense to me in terms of my computer time. Really even blogging doesn't directly help me achieve my life goals, but I am feeling like blogging a lot at the moment, to get my thoughts out and perhaps bring some order.

Christmas crazies... can't believe its mid december nearly. And I thought I was organised lol but in reality I'm not! Because the main present is still in Melbourne. So tomorrows first job is to arrange for the Springfree tramp to make its way across water. Plus decide on the other few pressies.

Tomorrow is the Christmas Party at playcentre for Bethany, will be fun. Jamie is coming and so is Grandma. Should be fun. They have been practicing and cooking but we haven't been told what!

We had lunch up at Grindelwald today - the food was bad, but we had fun on Tasmania's largest jumping pillow! It is really fun, you jump VERY high when there are a few people on it.

Best run, BBQ church tonight although the weather is looking bad. We aren't taking a BBQ, just sangers for the girlies, and some fruit and stuff and we will eat when we get home. Couldn't face packing it all up with no help - but thats another VENT grrr. LOL

To die for...

I love peppermint. Love love love mint aero's. Dove peppermint is OK too. But I just made this today... and just sampled a piece! I am being very domesticated and making Christmas gifts and this was part of it. The recipe is from here - yes I know, I know, i've left there. But one can still lurk in non-member areas! And credit where credit is due and all that :p

Peppermint Christmas Rolls

Ingredients
1 packet chocolate ripple biscuits
1 family block of mint crisp chocolate or 3 peppermint crisp bars. (i'm also going to try one using cherry ripes, i think it would work well)
1/2 cup glace cherries (i also substitute marshmallows, as kids dont like the cherries
1/2 can condensed milk
2oz melted butter
Coconut

Method
1. Crush biscuits, cut chocolate into small pieces, chop cherries, melt butter.
2. Mix all ingredients together.
3. Form into 2 large or 4 small logs.
4. Coat in coconut and wrap individually in foil (just like you would roll pastry around sausage rolls). Place in the fridge.
5. Cut into small pieces when you are ready to serve.

You can double the quantities so as to use a whole tin of milk and 1 pkt of cherries so they don't go to waste.

I used marshmallows - the mini ones and didn't chop them. I doubled the recipe as who can be fagged measuring half a tin of condensed milk. Anyhoo, very very easy and very very yummy. Word of warning - does look like poo when you roll it out :O as described by Bethany lol.

Personal Challenges Part 2

Seems perhaps I am not the only one going through some internal challenges!

At life group this am, one of the girls bought up something to challenge us all with. It is farrrrrrrrr to personal to share here right now, but another thing to work on.

I bought a book yesterday called Smart Organising. I think its going to be of great benefit to me. Some parts of it have already really connected with me and so I believe it could change the dynamics of this house. Just have to apply it lol.

Here's a big change for me - I no longer exist on EB. Not quite true, my past is still there but not my future. Why? a few have asked me... and its really a combination of a lot of things. Its not somewhere I want to fritter away my life, and its very easy to do there. Esp when there is some controversy going on. The friends have made through there are now friends away from there. I have felt for a while i needed to leave, tried to decrease time by logging out but that didn't really help either. Like any addiction you need to replace it with something else, not sure what that is yet lol.

Anyhoo TTFN

Personal Challenges

I've been feeling challenged in a lot of areas of late. One significant one being the state of my house. It's been building for a while (the feeling not the house lol) and its getting to the point of can't ignore any longer.

I grew up in a house where there was very little order, a lot of clutter etc. Funny cause my Grandma was a lady of order, washing on Mondays, ironing on Tuesdays etc. Mum was never like that. Still isn't. So I grew up with a very unstructured view to looking after the house. In actual fact, I probably didn't have a view on housekeeping lol. The first house we lived in was Jamie's Mums and it was quite small, easy to keep clean but I've never been one for the spring cleaning etc. our house now is overflowing with STUFF, too much STUFF plus people but not too many of them :p And our house isnt that big lol. About to be bigger thankfully and storage will be so much better.

Anyhootle, I learnt to put away after myself in the kitchen but its an ongoing battle. I guess with the girls, I get distracted and stuff gets half done or I'm too tired and don't tidy up properly. Plus Jamie is a hoarder and very untidy - there is LITTLE hope for our girls lol. So I've been feeling challenged on how to get things under control.

Mia is a funny girl. It's just her and I home today, B is at daycare. For the last 30min or so she's been pushing Eddie around in the pram with a handbag, now she has my next years diary too! She certainly knows what she wants. After her sleep, she plonked herself on her fold out couch and pointed at the TV, wanting Hi Five. And when it ended, cried cause I wouldn't put it on again :p

Better go and finish unpacking the half unpacked dishwasher hehe.

Once again...

far too long. And it's not because I don't think about blogging, I do, I just don't actually sit here and do it. So there is a lot to say.

Last post included Bethany's trip to hospital. Her cut has healed very very well. I think it will be barely visible. We have had it reviewed and the plastics reg was very happy with it :)

Bethany is doing well. She would so benefit from going to school next year but that is not meant to be :( She has had her dancing concert which was very cute, no pics to post :( It was a long arvo, hot in the theatre with 2 girls sitting on my knee :s Jamie's Mum and Byron came to watch which was great as Mum was away and so was Jamie. I have put her name down for ballet next year, will see about that. It just seems to fit better as we can't do Saturdays at the same school next year, so we might try something more formal. I can't believe she is nearly 4. Where has that time gone? She really is a delight, but is quite cheeky and defiant at times. She's very excited about Christmas. I think she will love her presents.

Mia is also doing well. She's a lovely little thing, but knows what she does and doesn't want and can turn the tears on quickly. She is slowly starting to talk, but still a lot of grunting goes on. Rather successfully though I might add, she can get her point across. It will be nice when she can talk properly, or at least enough to not grunt anymore.

Me - well... i'm feeling quite tired, run down and considerably stressed. I don't have a lot of patience at the moment. Finding it hard when Jamie is away for days. Its the hardest its ever been really. Just so constant now with B not sleeping in the day and a lot of nights she takes a while to go to sleep. Add in all the rest of it and I want a holiday. I'd be taking myself on one too but I sleep so badly when I go away. It's not that I don't want to be here, its just so tiring at times. My back and neck have been sooooooo sore. I've had 2 massages recently with no real relief. I dont' know why it's so bad. I have another on Saturday so hoping that will help. Drugs in the mean time ;)

I've started working at a scrap shop, actually its called The Scrap Shop. Its fun so far lol. Very relaxed and nice, gives me something for me to do. I'm saving the $$ for our QLD holiday that I plan to book on Christmas day! Have to think about when in the next 3 weeks then I guess! I wonder if we should go before Mia's birthday, that would save some $$. But seems too soon to be happening before March 20.

Our extension plans are well underway. We have the plans and are now looking for quotes. Had one builder in today and he was really nice. Very odd how he even came to be quoting. I had written some numbers down out of the phone book. I didn't write his name and number down, but accidently wrote his number down next to someone elses name. So rang him, looking for someone else. He was very very nice and I felt this overwhelming urge that i needed to call him back. So time will tell. Scary to think about all that has to happen between now and starting to actually build the thing.

Well thats it for now

Cuts, grazes and sniffing the laundry powder...

what a week it has been!

Sunday night B was running down to her bed and tripped, cutting her head open on the heater that was in the hallway. It was deep, nearly 1 inch long and bled A LOT. Mum came round to stay with M who was asleep (and stayed that way LOL). While we went to the ED. Thankfully we got to see the Plastics Reg who did a great job of stitching her up. He did internal dissolving stitches which is great. She was ever so brave, other than the slight (:p) fuss she made when having the needles for the local and the sedation up her nose. OK so not a slight fuss, a major major fuss with all sorts of people looking into the room with great consternation. One would have thought we were removing each toe nail piece at a time. Once the sedation got working, she was much happier and quite funny! She also got to use a special space mask blowing lovely happy gas into her. She was with the fairies for a while which was great as she has no recollection of the actual stitching. When he did the local the bleeding started and it was even more that time. I know heads bleed but seriously there was pools of the stuff. Thankfully it didn't worry B that much. J was another story on that front lol. Before we left home i had to tell him to lay on the floor in case he fainted!!!

So that was Sunday night. Home with very little pain but a drunk girl hehe. Monday she fell over and grazed her knee quite badly and then later that night she sniffed laundry powder up her nose.... arrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhh

We were about over it by then lol. All's well though. Her head looks great and just waiting for a follow up.

My news... I start a new job this week and i think i am going to teach myself how to face paint! Thought it might be a interesting thing to learn and lets face it I have plenty of willing faces to practise on!

So proud of my girl...

Bethany that is :) We went to Mum's this morning. She had some friends there, one of who is a retired school teacher who taught kinder/prep age literacy. She was talking about teaching B to read and write and some suggestions. Bethany then started writing the alphabet. When she had done it she took it round to show V who then started asking her about each letter "what is a for?" etc. They get to X.

V: what is x for?
B: x is for xylophone

Awwwwwwwww me so proud :p what a clever chickie!!! Of course I know why she knows that and its not anything to do with me! We have a book called "K is for Kissing a Cool Kangaroo", a rhyming book that goes through all the letters of the alphabet. And of course "x is for xylophone, now don't ask me why!" I think V was impressed too! Don't know how far i want to go with teaching her too much, don't want her to be bored when she actually gets to school lol.

You know its been a long time...

when you have to sign in again lol. Ahhh thems the breaks me thinks!

So a lot to update really.

The wonderful Miss Dee graced us with her presence last weekend. It was great! She fitted in to our family very well! Girls loved having her here as much as I did. She came for the KSK retreat, but we only went Friday night lol. That was enough really. Was cool to scrap with a friend. Cat et al came up, so B and Tabby renewed their acquaintance again - very loudly! Funny chooks they were! So we had tea out with them Sat night after visiting KP and then they came here Sunday am for lunch. We showed Dee the exciting sights of Launceston, the Gorge, Seaport etc. Visited both LSS's which was interesting to say the least! But more on that down the track I guess! All in all was great having Dee here - pretty cool she would come all this way to see us! MWAH

TSC - busy busy busy. J has had a crazy weekend with all sorts of jobs on all over the state! The rest of the month has been quiet so good really. New truck is here and has been out on jobs. And it now fits at the warehouse - oh what a dilemma that was lol. Only with J!

Girls - good. Our FDC has been in London for 3 weeks. Back Monday and I am counting the days. Was doing well until this week but very much need a break to do some stuff.

Hmmmm what else... there must be more...

I guess some pics. Last week I did 5 LOs :O one of them is not finished (just the journalling) haven't pic'd it yet. And went to post one and can't find it lol. OH well wasn't that exciting, was only about me. Oh and there is another i did last week but that is going elsewhere hehe.

Miss Mia got her face in Scrapbook Creations this month!!! Courtesy of Dee! Looks great love it!

thats all - determined to have an early night

Been tidying my scrap stuff and working on DH for a clip it up, but he's not keen lol. Says i have no where to put it! That's becuase i have so much crap that could hang on the dang thing!

Couple of mentions

Dee - thanks for the LO of Miss Mia in Oct SC. Its great!

Sharon - wow fancy tomorrow being your babies birthday. That has gone quick although probably not for you!

Scrapping...

I scrapped yesterday! YAY me. Want to do some more for some nice pics i have.

But here it is. I love these papers but find them hard to use. The September Sissey kit also had them in it with some Cherry Arte and some lush embellies.

It's been a while...

so should spend some time updating.

The dummy situation

We are now a dummy free house! It's all gone quite well, a few tears here and there and she still asks for it now and then but laughs when she realises what a duffa she is cause she just doesn't have it anymore! Going to sleep has been a bit of an issue but is resolving now. No night time wake ups asking for it, so my big girl has done really well. No sticker chart atm for night wakings either, so all going well on that front.

Mia
well Miss Mia is a funny child, I think she's going through some separation anxiety atm, but it is only intermittent. Last two days at FDC have begun in tears. She's particularly like it with Jamie, he has been away a lot though. Lots of bedtime tears, and even some night waking which is so unlike her. 4 eye teeth making their presence felt too i think. Still no permanent walking, but is doing more and getting better. Speech - still nothing huge. Attempting but no more real words.

Some photos
I took the girls down to the river on Saturday night to get some pics. We were about 10min late for the sun, but still managed to get some good pics. I am happy with the composition but the colours are out. I need to figure out PS - doing a PSE course on Sunday so that might help.

Blogger playing up so will edit to add later

Health and wellbeing in our house
Well 2 out of 4 are well! Mia has a snotty nose (yes so whats new) and I have another cold. Feeling a bit yukko so might have a snooze this arvy seeing the house is clean and kidlets aren't here! I do want to scrap though - got a few pics that need to be glued to a page :p I am really feeling the need to scrap, but its frustrating me to have to pack up all the time.

Oh big news! WE have engaged the draftsman (lady actualyy :p) to do the plans!!!! How exciting. I am in a dilemma though. Theoretically I should scrap the dream for a scrap room so we can have a walk in robe. I really do think a WIR would make a lot of difference but then I really want my own space. See techinically i could scrap downstairs. Once the playroom is done, a lot of downstairs will be empty and there will even be the old laundry. But that won't be easy for a lot more years just to duck down there and do stuff. I want it close by. And my new space will be right near the playroom so that is convenient. Arggggggggh too hard, but i will talk to the designer and see if we can fit both. Even if we just have a wider than normal wardrobe for a bit of extra space in there. It's so exciting, to think we might even get the deck done soon - be so nice to have it before christmas! Doubt it though. Cutting it too fine with council approval. But i'd love to have christmas lunch out there, but even if it was before B's bday Jan 22 that would be cool for a BBQ.

She's asleep...

yay. Sometime before 9.30, so that's pretty good. I think most nights she didn't actually have it in the night, so I hope we have a good one. 10pm though and I should be in bed. I say it every night. Doesn't happen and no good reason why...

I feel so bad...

we have finally dumped the dummy. It had to happen I mean the child is 3yr 9mth nearly. She happily dumped them in the bin this morning and was going to suck her thumb. All is fine until she gets in to bed tonight. The screaming and yelling started and last about 30min. Then she settles and I tell her she can play. That was about 7.30 - well its now 9.05 and she's still awake. THE POOR KID DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO GO TO SLEEP WITHOUT ONE. I feel so bad for letting it go on this long. It should have gone a long time ago. Dunno when she is going to crash. I hope it is soon cause I am whacked and need to go to bed myself. Poor girl, she loved that dummy. I feel guilty cause she really could have kept it, it did no harm. More of a social thing I guess - not to have it. Mia is dependant on Eddie, but we won't take him from her will we.

A LO I did today. I did this and a really plain boring double with the pics from Mia's hives.

Sharing some pics

Well i've been a lucky girl and now have a copy of PS CS3 yay - and thanks :p!!!

So a bit of fiddling and I've also fluked a couple of nice pics of my girls. And with some crash courses in actions from Kaysie and Clair (mwah) this is what they look like!
Bethany - so glad to finally have a good pic of her. That lack is partly my fault and partly hers lol.

Princess Mia - and she is a princess lol. Not in terms of attitude, but she's is our princess.

Jamie is away for days on end atm, hence I am so behind with everything. I so have to get more disciplined with my time. I know I'd feel better for it. Anyhoo...

Things I should post about
- Mia's speech
- Bethany and dance comps, dance lessons
- being fat

There's really a lot to post about but I've been sitting here since about 6.30 :O so better tidy up at least!

My next post shouldn't be this...

but unfortunately it is not a nice one. I got an email today from my besty Shelly. She lives in the USA. Unfortunately we don't have as much contact these days - and I'm a slacker. Her DH has cancer :o :( I feel so helpless being so far away, just want to give her a big hug. I feel deep inside that he'll be fine, lots of treatment to get through but WOW. What a lot to deal with.

Shell, if you get a chance to read this - just know that you are in my thoughts. You are always there - even if i don't email much these days. I just wish I could be there with you, to give you a hug, to just be with you. Be strong, yes it will be hard but each day will come and go and you are one step closer to the end of treatment and being cured. Love ya babe.

Sickness, snow and surprises...

Sickness has continued to plague our house this week. On Monday we got a call from day care that Bethany was unwell. Pick her up, she's febrile, get her to the Dr and she's got PNUEMONIA. Knock me over with a feather. So antibiotics and a very quick recovery. She was a sick little girl for about 12 hours but running on all cylinders by Tuesday morning thankfully. Then Wed night Mia starts coming out in those welts again on her chest - the today on her legs, arms and face. Take her to the Dr (need freq flyer points atm) and its hives. Cause unknown. Continues through the day. Poor little thing - hopefully its just infection coming out. Her cough has got worse, so hoping thats the cause and not a food allergy. Still getting them tonight but not as bad or extensive. And I woke this morning with a cold. Yay. Just what I need atm. And its that time of the month - double YAY.

The weekend extravaganza kicks off tomorrow. The first interstate guest arrives at 1030 tomorrow morning and it will be a procession after that. Thankfully I had cleaners in today or my head would be not together anymore. I passed off some more cooking after the hives started but still have a bit to do tonight. Lots of washing to put away, and I still have the guest book to scrap sometime! Can't wait though - Mum will be sooooooooo surprised.

Yes we got some snow up Cradle. I also got hit in the head with a hard chunk of ice - but other than that it was mostly fun. Will post more inc pics later.

Today I learnt

- that I shouldn't start making a double batch of honey joys at 5.15pm - when we normally eat tea at 5.3o (where is that rolling eyes smilie??)
- that a double batch of honey joys in fact makes 2.5 batches - weird
- that my eyes are too big for my head (I knew that already but had another episode today lol). Had nothing for lunch and i mean nothing. B at daycare and M in bed so I go to the shops (Jamie was home no I didn't leave Mia alone hehe) and get a chicken burger for us each. They sell Cheesecake Shop stuff and there was this yummy looking "thing" that I was informed was Mississippi Cheesecake. As soon as she said it I knew that I probably wouldn't like it but I ask for two slices (insert that smilie again). I thought they'd be small pieces but it wasn't far off a quarter for each slice :o HUGE. So anyways I had half a piece to find that yes I did in fact not like it.
- that my memory has departed prolly never to return. After buying above cheesecake I remember we had a frozen cheesecake for tea last night and there is half left :o
- that I am tired and want a break from everything. I didn't learn that today, i feel it more everyday
- that I will be lucky to make it to next weekend intact. There is so much to do but nothing i can do ahead of time. Will be worth it in the end
- that trying to make 7 pairs of fleece pants was too ambitious. Oh well...

How weird...

I was in Banjo's Bakery on Saturday and guess who was standing right next to me?? Rebecca Gibney! :o yes it was a bit of a surprise but it shouldn't be cause she lives about 2o min down the river from us. It was weird because it was a Sat am, people out and about, me only just dressed in around home clothes and there she was in her jeans and polar fleece jacket with her little boy. Normal as! Now I know she is just another person, but you do a double take when you see people like that in our sleepy little place. Our shopping centre has about 10 shops and then a Woollies, and it is a huge growing area about 15 min from the city but is quite rural. Where I am it is very rural with a farm as our back neighbour!. To get to said shopping centre, I drive 4 min along a river, yes right next to it! It's great. So gives you a bit of a surprise when you see someone like her standing next to you!

Other stuff...

- we have been given approval to buy a new truck!!! YEAH. So happy about that although means more stretching of the finances but that is cool cause we really desperately need it. Will be far more reliable for Jamie and look better too.

- Mum's big party is now less than 2 weeks away. I think I am mostly organised. I need to do a list of all the cooking i want to do and write a shopping list. I can't really do anything until next week.

- girls are good. Still a bit snotty and nasty coughs that have been going on forever. They are at day care today.

- we are going up to Cradle this weekend for a night, pity its not more really! This is where we are staying. Really hope that there is at least a bit of snow for the kids. I have been cutting out fleece pants for the girls today - want to keep them snuggly and warm :)

Hmm what else... not much I don't think so I'll depart ;)

I scrapped!

Yep, pooey to the housework (well i know have a cleaner lol :P) but yesterday I just had to scrap. Not my best effort ever, but the first page for me in AGES so not too bad. Not pic'd yet so will add later.

Mia walked 3 steps today - yes i know that should be more exciting and IRL it is lol. Don't think she'll do it again for ages cause she just tends to fall forwards if you hold your hands out to her when she is walking. Rang the speechie today and yes she is not saying as much as would be expected. Booked in for Aug 21 - going private atm and will go public if there is actually a problem. Just so hope there isn't.

This house is a mess! See thats what happens when you scrap :p

Girls are having fun though. Weather is starting to improve, can't wait for the days when we can just go outside and play. Really need a sand pit.

In laws up tomorrow for the monthly visit.

Congrats to Clair on her new BB gig and Leenie for taking over the digi world :p

Exciting...

I've just found a dance school for Bethany!!! And the best thing is... it's literally 2 min from us by car. Now that might seem insignificant, but we live out of the centre of town, fairly rural. Shops etc are 7min which is pretty good, so everything is close. Our shopping centre has a pharmacy, newsagent, takeaway and more - its a growing area. But where we are is very rural, big blocks, vineyards etc. We love it here - we are at the top end of a little cul de sac so it is quiet and safe - and we have a view of the river.

So... to find a dance school not in the city (20min) is awesome news for me. We have decided that we will keep her at day care next year and add another lesson and try and do a few more things like visit museums and stuff, to help her learning that way. So dance lessons will nearly make something every day but at least if its close it won't be a problem in terms of another day out. Competitions aren't compulsory at this age so we'll see how she goes.

We've had a lovely morning - went round to Dads farm and had a picnic on the hill overlooking the river. We went to the farm next door and the owner took us over to feed the alpacas - the girls just loved it. Pity I didn't have the camera. B is such an outdoorsy kid. Think Mia will be too - we must get our fences done and then it will be safe outside for them.

Better clean some mess up - my boy is away as usual - doing production for Young Divas tonight. He has all the fun :p me stuck at home hehe. Oh the other good thing - found a 2nd hand skateboard for our pram! Yay, save B wanting to sit on the front.

Some pics from today

Lugged the camera out today and got a couple of nice pics of my girlies...

Miss Bethany.
She is getting so grown up! We are still no closer to a school solution for next year. Doesn't seem any way to get her in other than a private pre-kinder which we kinda feel while beneficial to her is not so beneficial for us as a whole family. At the moment, it will be day care and we will add something like dancing lessons. I am thinking 2 days of day care and one morning at playcentre. She is now swimming by herself at swimming lessons and doing so well. She has surprised me with how much she does actually listen.

Eddy and Miss Mia - trying to get her fingers back in her mouth!

Still need a tonne more time playing with the camera to really get it sorted and must book in for a PSE course so I don't keep bugging Kays hehe.

Mia looks so grown up in this pic. Can't believe my baby is 16mths. Don't think I've posted here about her lack of talking. She vocalises a lot, don't think its going to be a huge issue, just slow perhaps, like she has been to grow. I'm going to ring a Speechie cause I don't want to miss the boat. I guess I am concerned cause of her slight tongue tie. She doesn't say Dad, she calls him Mum lol. She can say it but only rarely. She really only says Mum and versions of inc one that means Grandma. She says uh oh and varying other sounds, but no real words. She is certainly understanding and clearly states yes or no. Today I was folding washing and she took off with one of Bethany's socks. When I found the matching one, i asked to her to go and get the sock and bring it to me, which she did. So I have no concerns about her hearing or understanding, and like I said she does vocalise. Cause B was such a good talker so early (and hasn't shut up since :p) its hard to know what is normal. So I will talk to a speechie and see where too from here.

We are going up the mountain in a couple of weeks - hope there is still some snow. B will love it I'm sure. Going with the Richo's and the Carswell's so that will be fun. Oh Mum and Aran will come too, so that will be nice to take the pressure off with the girls.

On the count down to the big weekend now. I think we are pretty well organised. Getting very excited, I know Mum will be blown away.

I'm looking forward to some time to myself - not sure when it will happen! I might get Mum to have Mia for a day once Auntie Julie goes home, just to have a day at home and veg out.

I had a migraine on Saturday night and am still not really over it - my back is playing up heaps.

Two mentions

- happy birthday to Regan for this week! Hope she had a great day!
- welcome back to my mate Dee!

thats it from me - i need an early night with drugs for this back

Tagged

by Leenie :)

Here's the deal:

1-post these rules
2-each person tagged must post 8 random(... hopefully interesting) facts about themselves
3-taggees should write a blogpost of these facts
4- at the end of the post 8 more bloggers are tagged and named and released back into the wild
5-go to their blog and leave a comment telling them they're tagged

  1. I was an only child until I was 19. There is only me and my brother
  2. A friend and I once stole a cigarette from my Dad and smoked half each, that is the extent of my trial with cigarettes
  3. When I was 12 I represented Northern Tasmania in the State Netball Champs. We were sponsored by Mr Juicy and therefore wore bright orange skirts. We played all weekend in the freezing raing.
  4. I did piano lessons for years and hated it. Had to do exams and all.
  5. I am not at all artistic, the fact that I scrap is quite surprising really
  6. I got my ears peirced for the 2nd time when I was in Darwin in 1993. I wasn't allowed but got it done anyways
  7. Afore mentioned second earrings are now removed, I decided that I would prefer my girls to only have one, therefore I 'd better take my second one out too.
  8. I have been successful at every single job interview I have ever had. My first official job then all my nursing jobs. The scariest one was for a management position where I had to give a presentation at the interview. The panel were scary :p but now 2 of them are my friends and in fact they are together. Which in itself is a scary thought. Oh and I hated that job!
and I'll tag

What do sad meals come in Mummy?

Well thats a really good question isn't it! And it is what I was asked today! We went to McDonalds (yep bad mumma) and of course got a happy meal (B has the chips and I have the drink and burger!) Driving away as she was eating, she asked me what it was called... "a happy meal" was the obvious answer. Then she said "what does a sad meal come in?" Very good question!!! Shows good logic lol. She decided that the sad meal comes in a Shrek box, the one she had comes in a Chicken Little box. Hehe.

I'm a bit over the whole parenting gig. Doesn't help being sick and feeling like crap. B is wanting sooooooo much attention, today we played Candyland and Dominoes, did some painting, played cubbyhouse, had a sleep together on the couch (that was not such a great idea as she woke up grumpy grumpy) as well as spending a couple of hours in town. But that wasn't enough, she wanted more. What about housework? Nope, none done. They had a bath too and I got about 1/4 of the ironing basket done. How am I going to do this for another year? I know that kinder being only 2 days will be the same as now, so i need to look at options for her. I really would like to put her into dance lessons, but not with competitions, I will have to find out about that other place i heard about. Otherwise we'll go to dancefit i think.

So thats me...

I start every blog post with...

gee I'm slack or something to that effect hehe. But I am. I think about blogging, but some days, well most it just doesn't happen.

Some random stuff:

AM I OVER IT?? PERMANENTLY????
Scrapping that is???
- I was doing a bit of blog hopping the other night and there was a LO on there, and it was a very very nice LO, professional etc. And I realised that I didn't like it, it looked too polished, too professional. (I need to add here that it was not done by someone I know... so no paranoia here if anyone does happen to read this...) That night I skimmed a mag and the same thing. There were some in there that I liked but I realised a lot were just one pic with a title. Journalling has kinda disappeared. Anyhoo, what i realised was that no I'm not over it. Its just a period in my life that I am not scrapping, I have too much other stuff to do and there is no creative juices at all. But thats OK. But I want my stuff to have soul, to really be about us. It will happen again and my goodness it should when I look at all that stuff downstairs. When sorting it all - I have at least 2 complete kits in pizza boxes, untouched :o

SICKNESS
Over that too lol. Not one thing another. I have a cold, Mia has a chest infection, Bethany is probably nearing an infection too :( But we soldier on

BIRTHDAYS
Jamies birthday today! Happy birthday old boy! We got him a 4GB iPod, slippers (so he stops wearing mine!) and 2 jumpers from Colorado. He seems pleased with the iPod - now I want one hehe.

Mums birthday is fast approaching. Getting excited now. It will be a tonne of fun - after the hard work is done. Thankfully Dad is willing to pay for catering so that takes the pressure off me.

CLEANING
Yay my cleaner starts in less than 2 weeks! I get 2 for the price of one as well!

I'd better stop typing now and get back to it as well. I have done the girls rooms and most of ours, now just to finish ours and do the kitchen ready to start cooking tea. Roast lamb and vegies with choc sponge cake for dessert - at request of the birthday boy!

ONE LAST THING
Church stuff - so exciting whats happening there. Will be a tonne of opportunities in the future to put into practice all those things that have been tucked away inside. Ready for a time like this. The time is now... next year will be exciting I think. I'm going to go to TAFE and do at least one course. That will be all day workshop type stuff and if I decide to do OHS as well, then I would hope that i can do that online. Gives me good valid reasons for Mia to go to care 2 days a week hehe.

Denise our office lady starts properly on the 23rd! YAY.

Well...

didn't get back to post those pics! Got gastro instead LOL. Took a few days to get over it too. B had it as well but coped fine. Thankful for living close to Mum when stuff like that happens - she had the girls heaps for me.

Good things are happening with TSC - steps ahead and we have money in the bank. Yippee - I so hope this is the turn around year.

My brain is not coping well though - so forgetful have to work on that.

My girls were so sweet tonight - they were playing in Mia's room. B would come out to get something, followed by Mia. B would get what she came for, then Mia would turn around and ever so quickly crawl back into her room. They had the lights out, music on! B took our old toaster in there - luckily I realised she had plugged it in :o They are so sweet together - they are going to be great friends. So blessed.

Here's some pics of tonight - full frontal nudity alert :o lol. The girls were squealing at each other in the bath!

And blogger is being a poo-head so will add the others later.

What's been going on...

School hols here - not that it makes much difference to us but we did still get to keep our day care days, actually better than that we don't miss out from public hol yest - they both go on Thurs instead! Yippee for me hehe.

Mia had gastro on Sunday - poor bubba, was awful. Just vomits thankfully. But everywhere and lots of washing. Only lasted 4 hours. B went to Mums and stayed the night which was good so I could just sit with Mia.

We went to see Shrek at the movies last night - B's first movie experience. I thought she'd be wow'd and she was for the first 5 mins lol. Not sure that she really liked it! We took Aran too, and had tea out afterwards which was nice. Mia went to Mum and Dads.

Thought I should share some pics I just downloaded. OK puter playing up - doesn't like the big files from the new camera. Will add them later.

The things they say part 2

Last night B and Jamie were sitting at the table after tea. She was on his kneee - he said to her "look at these golden hairs" showing her the fine hairs on her arm. She yells to me ( I was only a couple of metres away in the kitchen) "Look Mum, I look like a boy!" LOL funny girl.

Busy day today. Girls at daycare. I did some housework and got all our EOM stuff done and posted. I have started following this to try and get some routine happening in this house. So I got a fair bit of stuff done, which is good.

Had a scrap class tonight but no one showed! I was actually very glad, I had a good wander around the shop, bought some stuff as you do and came home. It was so cold anyways and I was too tired to be there. So I'm actually very glad.

I entered the Tarisota Designer Discovery, didn't win, but I am proud of my entry. I am also very relieved that I didn't win. I wasn't even disappointed which surprised me a bit. The deadlines would have been fairly tight and I really don't need/want the extra pressure, so all is good. Suppose I should show my entry!

This is the card - it will be Mum's 60th birthday card.

This is a mini album - will (when its finished hehe) be pics of the girls together. Using Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl papers, love them! I am really pleased with this. It's a canvas album. This is the only page I have finished in the album! Cause there was only a limited number of pics allowed to submit to Tarisota, I didn't finish it all. Glad I didn't now too lol.

Here is the LO. Love this pic of Mia. It is going to be seen a few times in different places (not scrapped by me) - keep your eyes open! This pic was taken with the new camera at Mum's house. Just love the depth of field it can give.So there you have it. I think there's a few more LO's I haven't put on here oh well! I must get scrapping some cj's and recipe cards.

That's it from me TTFN

The things they say...

I was just sitting here surfing the net. B was at her table cutting up some cardboard. Mia was sitting at her feet. B says to Mia "Mia are you my best friend?" Mia looks up and nods to her. B says "OK you can be if you want to!" LOL so sweet!

So glad they love each other - hope its like this forever!

Realised this morning that i missed Shelley's birthday - big oops if you are reading Shell! :( Jamie said that would be the first time in years, um no its the usual. How bad this that! Anyhoo, hope you had a good day and got spoilt lots. You MUST leave me a comment when you read this.

Life is...

ticking over :) Still tired and leaning towards the bored side! Trying to be better with general tidyness and is working as much as it can around 2 kidlets. Especially one who takes after her father :p

Scrapping - going well. Secret squirrel stuff done and dusted. I think.

Business - yay some cheques came today so bills can get paid. Big yay. Going to get new hire software too, I am excited as to what difference that will make for Jamie.

Working on the school situation for B next year. Spoke to an education pyschologist today and she is going to find out definitely what assessment she needs for early entry. Craps me off that Kindeis about socialisation not academia, but has to have an assessment that is intellectually based. Stupid if you ask me. All cause of 21 days. Grrrr. If she doesn't get in then I so don't know what we'll do. So hard, so frustrating cause I know she'd be fine.

Anyways determined to have an early night. It's 9.20 and so by the time I get things settled and last laundry trip for the day, it'll not be that early. So that's it from me.

Tip for the day: never have a downstairs laundry. It sucks big time.

Good Stuff...

Well I don't think I have typed here about my weight loss. So far so good lol, although since Sydney its not been a conscious effort. But I weighed myself today and it's still going down which is a really nice feeling. It's actually visible now, and people are commenting which makes me feel good. I just want to get more off before Mum's birthday in August. I've been doing WW online and since that have lost 1.5kg but prior to that about 5kg.

I'm doing some secret squirell SB stuff which is occupying my brain far too much!!! It's exciting though, but shouldn't get ones hopes up.

Girls are good - B has improved thankfully although they are still both a bit snuffly. Jamie is away, house is a mess. Grrrrrrrrrr never seems to get any better.

Slack blogger siging in...

yeah I know - last post was ages ago.

We went to Sydney and we came home from Sydney. It was great fun and the girls were awesome. Will post more later but for now - I met Dee! and her boys lol. It was good to finally meet irl. She's sooooooooooo different to how i imagined!!!

Since then life as usual. We are getting some new hire software and an office manager! Woohoo!!!! Only ppl who know me well will know how much this will impact on my life. Can't wait. It will take a bit to set up but my dream is getting closer to me letting this go. I want to be able to do more with Jamie on the other side of the business so much so I think next year I am going to study and probably finish Cert IV in Training and do something in OHS I reckon. Both things I can use if I go back to work.

We had some attitude problems with B when we got home, she seems a lot better now although she has a virus atm with high temps and VERY unsettled at night. So I'm quite sleep deprived. Mia has a bit of a cold but is fine. Stopped the dream feed last night and she still slept all night.

She's here at my elbow right now so'd better go

Having no life...

well its not completely true - its just been a tad crazy really.

The Tailrace Centre has kinda taken over our lives a bit! Not as much as the project managers, owners and builders but Jamie has put in some very solid hours there the last few weeks. And this weekend has been the grand opening so we've been there Friday night for a banquet and today for lunch. Friday night was good fun - pity Jamie has to always work at these things. Today was good but of course with 2 girls in a packed room getting lunch etc - not so much fun. But always good to be part of. Kids Paradise was not officially open much to Bethany's disgust - but she's been 3 times this week alone - you'd think she'd be over it. Nope not a bit lol. I reckon we'll go again this week sometime, probably have a meal there too. Its such a nice place to be - feels so welcoming. They have done an awesome job and TSC are proud to be a part of it. If there are any readers out there :) here's a link for Kids Paradise. It truly is awesome. Be a great place when Mia is a bit older too.

We ordered a digital SLR camera last thursday!!! Yippee - now I have to figure out how to use the thing! A whole new world, I hope I can get some good pics of the girls. When we get home from Sydney I'm going to dedicate some time to get out and have a good play with it. Jamie wants some pics of the Tailrace Centre for our suppliers. That will be fun - cause I am clueless LOL. Same day we ordered it we found out we are getting a tax refund as well as a lot of clients paid their bills! WOW we could leave the state lol. So nice to be able to send out a heap of cheques and clear the decks. A tax refund is so significant for us cause its the first tax period we have done PAYG instead of paying at the end and getting lumped with HUGE tax bills that have really set us back financially. So thats a good feeling.

I've been toying around with getting an office manager part time. I am wondering if we can get done what is outsourced now plus more for the same outlay. Plus so much easier in our house. It would also mean my dream of stepping back comes that bit closer. I would literally only look after cash flow. When we get back from Sydney we'll look at it more seriously and look at some actual costings. Its scary really cause its employing a whole different person, we'd have to be so much more organised and get some systems in place. That said, it should free up Jamie if he doesn't have to do invoicing.

So Sydney next Sunday - by this time then we should be there and at the hotel. Meeting up with Dee on Monday :0 what if she's horrible and mean and nasty :p.

Better run - Jamie and B just home

The Story of a Girl and Her Bear

Well this is quite a long story. It begins back soon after Mia was born. She was given lots of lovely soft toys - some really different and unusual ones. I chose one little bear to pay more attention to, hoping he'd become a favourite. We named him Eddie after the Jez Albourough (?sp) books about the little boy Eddie and his teddy. He was a lovely soft little bear and I'd stroke her cheek with him if she was upset in bed. So she grew to love him - tonnes. Around Christmas time, she started grabbing him when she got out of bed and wanting to take him places. Not everywhere and she could live without him. Of course taking him out and about worried me that we'd lose him. She'd carry him around in her right arm, with her two fingers more often than not in her mouth as she does. Of a night before bed when she was really tired, she'd roll around on the floor with him. She'd always look for him when she got into bed. He was her most precious possession.

Here is a pic of him taken on Easter Sunday. It's not the best pic and I have others but this will do for now.
So move forward to Saturday April 14. We'd had a good morning - doing a few things in town - visiting FK in hospital with her new baby Ruby! Called in to see Jamie at the Tailrace Centre and B had a bit of a play at the new Kids Paradise. Came home and the girls had a sleep. In the arvo, we picked up Mum and Aran and went to the playground at Gravelly Beach and had a play etc.

We got home and everyone was pretty tired - Mia didn't have an afternoon sleep so was pretty tired. She made a huge fuss with her tea - so I went to the car to get Eddie. NO EDDIE. Nowhere to be found. I turned the car upside down - I just thought he'd be in there. Meanwhile upstairs Mia is screaming her head off and Jamie rings for me to get him a phone number (insert tearing hair out smilie here). So I ring Mum - knowing that we did go back inside at their house but I was pretty sure she didn't have him then. She sat on Dad's knee the whole time and I was sure he wasn't there. She went round to the playground. I continue to look getting more frantic by the second. Decide I can't hang around but I needed to go and look for him myself. So we get to Mum's and they are back - no bear. They looked everywhere but nothing. Thankfully Mum had a bear that was kinda similar - she was happy enough with him. You could tell that she knew it wasn't him but she was OK to give him a hug. So I go and look - zilch, zip, nada, nothing. We come home - she goes to sleep but is not very settled.

I of course am feeling like the worst Mummy in the world. How could I leave her prized possession somewhere, knowing just how much she loved him. Cried a few tears myself that night. I felt so sorry for this little bear to be out there all by himself - silly really but I just prayed that whoever had taken him would love him more than Mia. I was also angry - how could someone take home a bear that was obviously so well loved - and he stank!

The next morning I rang the local shop - nothing there either. So I'd gave up ever seeing our lovely Eddie again.

I emailed Tomfoolery (the maker) with the above photo and his tag name (Arnie) to see if they could help - and guess what? Help they did!!!! Tuesday afternoon they replied with 3 names of shops in town to try - who had bought "Arnie" in the past. So rang them I did - the first place I rang had tonnes of bears - would take her a day to look at all of them but she could order one in for me if needed. Great - fact one - we could order a specific bear (I couldn't remember if we used to do that at Birchalls or not with this company). Second shop - no they didn't have "Arnie" but they had just put an order in and they could add him to the order. Great - a step closer. Third shop - THEY HAD AN ARNIE!!! Oh my gosh - such excitement! This is what he said to me "i think we have him, there's great jubiliation going on here, let me look - YES WE HAVE AN ARNIE". By this time I was in tears - again lol. So they put him aside for me and i was going to go in the next day. But Jamie said - just go get him so i bundled the girls up and off we went.

So all the way in the car i was getting nervous - what if he was the wrong bear? what if she didn't really care anyway? So we walk in and there he is sitting up on the shelf - i couldn't see his face but I knew it was him. I said to this poor girl - "thats our bear can you get him for me?" - gave him straight to Mia. And she knew it was him - no doubt. She cuddled him just like she always did. Didn't matter to her that he was clean and considerably more pudgy than her loved squashed up version one. She was happy again. We couldn't get him off her to pay for him.

I was so relieved, and happy! It was so obvious to see that she had her bear back - i was telling mum in the car on the way to swimming and she was holding him out to mum and then cuddling him saying "awww". Its so cute to watch. All is well again in our house - my precious girl has her precious teddy back. I don't care that he's version two. I just care that my girl is happy again.

Boom Boom

A horse and a flea and the three blind mice
Stepped off a curb and slipped on ice
The horse he slipped and fell on the flee
Oops said the flea thats a horse on me

Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy,
Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy,
Silly and foolish the whole way through,
Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy.

Way down south where banana's grow,
A flea stepped on an elephants toe,
The elephant cried with tears in his eyes,
Why don't you pick on someone your size.

Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy,
Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy,
Silly and foolish the whole way through,
Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy.

Eli, Eli, he sells socks
Five cents a pair or a dollar a box,
The longer you wear'em the shorter they get,
Put 'em in the water and they don't get wet.

Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy,
Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy,
Silly and foolish the whole way through,
Boom boom ain't it great to be crazy.

Boom boom ain't it great to be CRA - ZY.

Happy Birthday my sweet girl

One today. I can't believe it. This time 12mths ago i was in theatre freaking out. They had trouble getting the spinal to work properly so it took a few goes. She should have been born by now (9.10am) but it was 9.28 before she came out.

It actually feels very surreal cause we are celebrating tomorrow cause Jamie is away. So B thinks its tomorrow. Mum has rang, Mai and Steph rang but thats it. So I feel a bit emotional about it all. I have said happy birthday to her numerous times but its just not the same. I just wish Jamie was here or at least had rang. I know he's probably had very little sleep and up again today to do the PCP set up but sometimes this business just sucks. It can't be like it forever.

Anyways...

the girls are really tired today cause they were at Janelles last night for my first scrap class - so B was grumpy cause she wanted to have breakfast at Nels. And Mia was tired too and i'm tired and emotional! Looks like a good day to come.

Class went good- i think they enjoyed it! I talked for too long lol.

Going now - need to sort out this birthday - don't even know what cake I am doing. Poor girl no thought at all!

Change of Thinking

Well I guess firstly i need to thank Amanda for this. She mentioned in a scrapping thread about the book by AJ Rochester "The Lazy Girls Guide to Dieting" and i thought it sounded like me lol. So it arrived yesterday. I haven't read much but firstly its about changing your thinking.

So on the way to town this am (going to Kids Paradise for Life Group but it was flooded cause of yesterdays rain :( ) and I do owe it to me, Jamie and my kids to put healthy food into my mouth. I don't put crap fuel in my car, I put good fuel in it. So why do I put crap in my mouth? For an instant of gratification? Even then sometimes it aint that nice but i keep eating it anyways. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB. So we ended up at the Chocolate Cafe - me and Jac and the girls and then Matt came (jamie was supposed to come too but he thought i said janelle's house not janelle's shop so he went there - insert rolling eyes smily a million times right here). The girls and J made scones and I was very good and only had one with a bottle of water. I didn't even want the one but had it anyway. DUMB. Anyhoo... random thoughts.

Got on the tready at 10pm or so last night - at least i was on once in the day! Been so hot here, can't wait until it goes. Got some rain last night - town got the heaviest - typical all down the storm water drains it goes.

B is asleep - she must be tired, gonna let her sleep cause i think Matt, Jac and Meg are gonna come down tonight. She got a bee sting on her little toe at day care on Monday and ended up not being able to walk and at the Dr's with quite a nasty allergic reaction. Scary really. Mum got another jack jumper bite on tuesday night - the pherergan fixed it but she has still got to have an epi pen.

Mia is crawling! YAY kinda lol. Commando and fairly slowly atm. She went on a feeding strike at the weekend but fixed now YAY.

Me - I'm good. Cooking up some exciting news lol. Hopefully it will be all sorted soon. Not that it will be any big announcement lol but I am excited about it and it will be something for me. Will be a challenge.

Oh don't think i've posted since young Thomas entered the world on Val's Day. Congrats to Kays and family. He was just over 35 weeks so a little one. Kays has had a tough time of it one thing and another, but she did a great job cooking him.

Oh and hugs to another friend...

Mmmmmmmm update again lol

If I just did it more often it wouldn't be such a task would it lol.

Firstly a couple of LO's from this week. This is a pic of Mia taken by Yvonne at B's party. Just love them. Some pp's from Dee last year - the background green and the blue paisley, plus the white flowers and coaster. A big mix of pp here. Very happy with how it turned out.

And this one using Tarisota kit - BG blush, some bazzill, MM sticker words (love these) and other bits. Love this pic - the look in Jamies eyes is priceless. Another great one by Yvonne! at B's party too. Must scrap one of B herself at her party!

Bethany
dunno whats going on with her but having some really disturbed nights and wet beds - as early as 9pm. Tried some things and last night was a little better. Hope she improves and get back to normal patterns - its the worst EVER. Day sleeps are gone too :( at least she goes to sleep earlier at night.

Mia
She's going to be a firery little thing I think lol. She's got a lot of spirit and spunk and times. Starting to get around more on her bottom and her tummy. Look out here she comes lol.

Jamie
what a week - the truck broke down TWICE. We really need to get a new one - be good in lots of ways

Me
found my scales and I've lost about 2kg since I last weighed myself. YAY good motivation to really get into it and make it happen.

I was going to do this really serious post. But... I'm not lol. Need to wash up instead!

CJ Cover

Did this yesterday - pretty happy with it. The theme was going to be "I am" but that looked sucky on the cover so I changed it LOL.

Nearly mid Feb and...

the first LO of the year! Thanks to Dee for the stitching while my program is on its way. First time using the scanner - makes such a difference. Photo by Yvonne at B's party. There's some stuff i want to say on here - but now isn't the time. I am nearly finished the cover for my 3AS cj. Bit nervous about that - oh not really nervous but its going to take a long time to get it back so hope it all works OK. Dee will keep it rolling ;)

B has dropped her day sleep :0 hate that. But she'll stay in her room for an hour or so, one good thing. And at least it means she is in bed early and asleep. So much easier. Need to rearrange how i do things in the day to get through it i guess.

TTFN - its late and i should be not here

Update

I am determined to get this blog updated - so it might take a few posts to get there!

So what have we been up to?

House improvements :) finally our back and top side fences have been replace after being in a big state of disrepair for a long time. More out of necessity now to keep the girls in! We also had the garden edging replaced down the side garden so that has inspired us and we have spent most of the weekend out there replacing soil and planting 6 new camellia's along the fence. Really went to get some aggies but they didnt have any so the next stage went in. And they look great. Jamie has spent lots of hours out there digging up tree roots and stuff. Looks so good - finally getting the backyard to a nice place to be :) YAY

Nappies - we now have a full compliment of cloth nappies. Not sure how we will go with winter drying - have got some pockets and have been making some. Toying with the idea of making some to sell but not sure if i can be stuffed with the testing phase. Have an online outlet ready to go and have a unique design if i wanted to go ahead I think. Also have another idea - you never know lol.

Scrapping - mojo is floating around but time is lacking. Need to finish the LO from the Tarisota class the other night. It really isn't my style, so don't really want to waste products on it ;) especially those nice chippies. So in actual fact I might not finish it cause atm nothings glued down so no waste. Have altered a file box for the EB scrap comp and did 2 cards - for B's birthday and for our anniversary. Need to get going on my recipe swap cards - have a bit of an idea for the recipe, just need to figure out how to attach it to a card with out being too bulky or too much work lol.

thats part one of the update - cooking Mac and cheese for tea. J and B at church, i've got a crampy gut so not feeling great.

Happy Birthday!!!

Yes I know it was nearly a week ago but HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY to my sweet first born daughter. It was a great day - big party at the bike centre 30+ kids and 15 or so adults. Lovely sunny day. B got blessed with lovely presents a good mix of books, puzzles and toys. We gave her the new FP Learning Centre, a trampet thingy and some other bits and pieces. Had family for a BBQ tea. No piccies as yet - Yvonne will bring them tomorrow night. Can't wait to see them cause I know there are some lovely ones.

Took a few days to really recover and get the house into some sort of order again. Since then I've been sewing nappies - on to version 3 of the pocket now, need to do another to refine the opening properly. Not sure if this design will work or not. You never know the openings you will get.

Anyhoo - wanted to post this pic and article that was in todays paper.
I am just scanning the cards I made - will post them later.

Nappy pics

Cause I couldn't be stuffed with PB and needed to show some pics of the new nappies - AKA tea cosy's!.

Photos are crappy...

Here we have a Bubblebubs - great AIO nappy. This is our second and two more on the way.

The next two are Kidz in Cloth- found at Ozebaby and their own site (can't find link right now). These are fitteds and I really like them.

This is a Honeyboy AIO from Cherubs Kiss. Great nappy - too big on her ATM though.

And this is a CUSTOM JayeBee!!! I found this PUL and asked a favour ;) Thanks SJ! JayeBee can be found here. Quite an unusual design - has snap in liners and is also a pocket. Can be used as a cover only. Seriously lush. Great quality fleece inside. This is a large for next summer! Also got a cow print PUL that isn't made up yet. It might find its way back to SJ one day!!!!

Have also forgotten to mention that B is now out of night nappies! Good thing I didn't buy heaps of BBB's - more $$ to spend on others for M LOL. She just decided one night that she didn't want to wear a nappy. Had 2 wet beds, but otherwise OK.
